For the most part a quiet guy. I like random internet searches to
learn something/anything(latest searches include home brewing,
diddly bo construction, how to make a cookie tin banjo, updates on
Iran, snickerdoodle recipe, non-profit start-up, aquaponics, the
weight of a boeing 757 and so on). I like to go have drinks with
friends but I try not to do it often, more of a movie, tv, go have
a coffee, random activity kinda guy. I like to read quite a bit and
will destroy a book I'm enjoying in a day or two. I enjoy the
occasional bluegrass show, hockey game, and flea market. I'm a
Phillies fan and a Pens fan. I would like to go back to school
someday, til then I work and try new things. Photoshop(or
opensource equivalent), Vegas movie studio, Inkscape(Illustrator
opensource equivalent), fruity loops, and evernote are some
programs I use frequently.
What I’m doing with my life
With any luck something good. Non profit work(startup is a pain),
and maybe someday a little bit of writing/film/learning one of the
instruments I own. Every once in awhile I work with a buddy on a
graphic design job, less often lately since he does more web stuff.
I’m really good at
Something I'm sure, still working on it. Though hobbies include
woodworking, a little bit of gardening, and plucking strings.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Like everyone else I dig alot of music, but as far as whats in
rotation in my car now; Childish Gambino, The .357 String Band,
Parov Stelar, Daft Punk, Old Crow Medicine Show, Kanye, Muse, Walk
the Moon, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Atmosphere, The Bridge, and
whatever is on WXPN or NPR.
I enjoy graphic novels, House of Leaves, a little bit of Grisham
and Steve Bachman, Christopher Moore books, and a bunch of
non-fiction; Bitter Fruit, Grassroots Gardening, Science of Fear, a
sizable amount of art books, and others I can't remember the titles
of right now.
I love food. Mostly mexican.
Walking Dead, Futurama, most Adult Swim, anything Mike Judge,
Community and always down for checking out others.
Waking Life, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, some old school japanese samurai
stuff, a lot of Guy Ritchie movies, Once, Tucker & Dale VS
Evil, anything Muppets, a couple David Fincher films, Robert
Rodriguez films, anything Tarantino, Apatow, Will Ferrell, or Bill
Murray. Documentaries, mostly about outer and inner space,
technology, sustainability, and some nature ones. Many many others
and I love to show my favorites to friends(and watch theirs).
The six things I could never do without
Car, phone, The Midtown Scholar, internet, my books(including those
not quite yet in my possession)...a sixth to come
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I would be doing if I wasn't thinking so much.
What happens in a black hole. Why we don't have jetpacks yet. Why
this computer tells me that "jetpacks" is spelled wrong but "gonna"
and "gotta" are just fine.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at my brothers house coming up with woodworking projects.
Possibly having a beer with a bud.
You should message me if
If exploring Harrisburg and the music/art scene seems like fun. If
you want a movie buddy, and definitely if you have ever seen Waking
Life and think about topics brought up in that movie.
