I'm a PhD student who spends far, far, far to much time on the internet when I should be writing. I justify it to myself by saying that it's all "research" anyway. I'm interested in politics, social justice, internet culture, and having informed opinions about stuff. I love coffee more than is good for me, play a lot of videogames, and I have friends all over the world.

I'm counting down the months till I have to actually submit this thing and join the real world. In the long term I'm aiming for a secure teaching/research position in Oz or internationally. We'll see if that's a realistic goal or not. The mid-term plan is to spend a few months in North America next year couchsurfing through NY, Boston, Montreal, etc.

I read a lot of academic books and non-fiction. I don't really keep up with many of the latest films but I enjoy watching the good ones later. I'm deeply, seriously into hip hop and I'm always looking out for more good stuff. I cook a rather international range of styles - asian, indian, mexican mostly - but I'll eat anything when I go out.
