I do have quite a good job, working in HR for a big company, which although I moan about it a lot, I guess I enjoy some things about it (mainly that it pays well, and has good holidays!). I do work hard, and put in long hours, but if I ever won the lottery I think I could transition into a life of leisure pretty damn quickly.
I'm also brilliant at spelling and grammar.
When it comes to films, I'm a sucker for a superhero movie, but my absolute watch-them-repeatedly-favourite films are Fight Club and Sin City. I also tend to enjoy anything by Almodóvar.
Favourite TV Shows tend be of the HBO/Showtime variety - things like True Blood, Dexter, Nip/Tuck, Six Feet Under, Weeds.
With books, I'm less bothered about the plot than about having well-written characters that I really feel like I'm getting to know. I also love a novel that stirs up some controversy - I'm a big fan of Bret Easton Ellis's novels (except American Psycho, which is one of the very few books I've ever given up halfway through). A couple of stand-out favourites from the last couple of years are We Need To Talk About Kevin, Cloud Atlas, Freedom (Jonathan Franzen) and The Art of Fielding (Chad Harbach).
Sandwiches. (Being from the North, I firmly believe that there are few things in life that aren't improved by slapping it between two slices of bread).
My iPod. (I'd happily give up my iPhone to a mugger if I managed to keep hold of my iPod).
Gin. (Other alcohols may be substituted, but if I had to pick one)
Coffee. (I don't particularly like the taste of coffee, just it's effects - so I generally drink Starbucks as it doesn't really taste like coffee).
On a typical Saturday morning I am usually found horizontal, swearing that I'll never go out with those guys again without having dinner first. Before swiftly forgetting that promise to myself the next week.
