My self-summary
"...The poet is like this prince of the clouds
Who shames the storm and the archer's aim;
When exiled on earth, amidst the booing crowds,
By his giant wings is rendered lame."

-Charles Baudelaire, "The Albatross" (last stanza, my own translation from the French). The bird with the largest wings on Earth, that can soar for hours in the sky without beating its wings, but on land can barely walk without looking ridiculous. That, essentially, is me.

My name's Alexander, I'm from Federal Way, WA (Seattle-Tacoma area), now living in Arkansas. Originally, from the city, I'm surprisingly enjoying my new country life, and I enjoy going for walks by the fields whenever I'm not practicing, which I do a lot of as a cello performance student at the University of Central Arkansas. I'm immensely interested in foreign languages and culture (I'm half French [my dad] and speak the language more or less fluently) and would love to live abroad one day. I'm intelligent, passionate, driven, and above all affectionate.
I’m really good at
Bowed String Instruments, Piano, Composition, Language.
The first things people usually notice about me
People have all variety of reactions towards me upon first meeting. I'm rather shy and introverted, and sometimes people will just assume I'm a snob, which is silly. I'm just me. My normally reserved behavior will surprise when I become excited and bouncy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
At this moment, probably the Dhammapada (buddhist fundamental scripture). A wide variety of fiction, with tastes towards philosophy, linguistics, Buddhism, cultural/queer studies, history and (obviously the best for last!) music. I have a growing love for poetry, especially Baudelaire's "Fleurs du Mal," (Flowers of Evil) the Albatross mentioned above being taken from that collection.

Regarding music, there are no limits. I'm a classical musician, but I really do love everything from Mozart to Pop to Indian sitar music. I don't love everything, but I will love anything. Which is how I am usually towards people as well.

My tastes for movies go towards the indie/foreign era. I love French and Hungarian food, mainly because of my family heritage. Indian and Sushi is also great. I only watch TV on weekends or during the summer, but I don't really like anything but movies...
On a typical Friday night I am
Studying, walking, practicing, composing, working out, visiting friends, having coffee, procrastinating...usually some combination. Maybe it's the fact that the night life in Arkansas is terrible anyway, but I'm really not much of a party person. I enjoy quality alone time together either at home or out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was a home-schooled child, and was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (know what that is before you judge. Please and thank you). Basically, I didn't know how to socialize for most of my life. College turned my life around, and almost no one notices unless I point it out. However, if I seem to act a little bit strange to you, suffice it to say that you should give me a chance. I'm not good at giving or reading signals, so it's best to be explicit with me.

You should message me if
You're a more intense, passionate, and intelligent person than your average queer. What I find attractive and unappealing is capricious, and I can never know until I really know someone what I will or will not care about.
