My self-summary
Hey there. I've called SF and the Bay Area my home for almost 15 years now, and while I occasionally get the urge to pack up and move to New Zealand, I can't imagine living in a place more conducive to cultural diversity, outdoor adventure, and food trucks. I believe in Public Health. I always root for the little guy. I drink my coffee black. I love the sound of an acoustic guitar. I like to run long distances. I generally eat healthily but you will never, ever see me refuse pizza, a bacon cheeseburger, or a donut. Ever. Especially if it's a Bob's donut.

Random fact: I once played lead guitar for a 80s/90s cover band called "At least eat the meat" in grad school. We were asked to play at a graduation party one year at a professor's house in the Berkeley hills and we were so loud, the cops showed up. It was my first, and most likely my last, taste of what it's probably like to be a rockstar.

I'm looking for a fun, adventurous, kind-hearted girl with a penchant for occasional mischief. A girl who has a good sense of herself and knows what she wants in life. A girl who appreciates the outdoors and doesn't mind the lack of facilities for a few days. A girl who loves children. And food. And music. And if you can sing, I desperately need a voice to complement my guitar.
What I’m doing with my life
During the week, I deal with regulators at a medical device company. On the weekends, I'm usually out running aimlessly for long distances or hiking the local trails or backpacking the Sierra. Planning my next big trip to Patagonia or Alaska.
I’m really good at
Doing the Charleston. Making paella. Identifying 80s songs in the first 5 notes.
The first things people usually notice about me
Throughout my life, more than a handful of women have told me that I have nice eyelashes. I'm not sure what that means.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Mountains Beyond Mountains, Unbroken, Silent Spring, Omnivore's Dilemma, The Grapes of Wrath, anything by Malcolm Gladwell.
Movies: The Goonies, Fargo, Dumb and Dumber, When Harry Met Sally
Shows: Portlandia, How I Met Your Mother
Music: The Smiths, U2, Beatles, classic Bossa Nova, 70s slow rock, Ella Fitzgerald, Doc Watson, any acoustic guitar music
Food: uni, Korean BBQ, Racer 5 IPA, oysters at Hog Island farm, all kinds of pizza (although I hear St. Louis style is not very palatable)
The six things I could never do without
The Eastern Sierra
strong coffee
my guitar
olive oil
a cold IPA
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why little orphan Annie doesn't have eyeballs
On a typical Friday night I am
Either drinking some form of yeast fermented concoction with my pals at happy hour or driving out to the mountains for a weekend of camping or backpacking.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
As a kid growing up in the 80s, my favorite TV show was CHiPs and Ponch was my hero. I used to ride around my neighborhood on my Huffy wearing a cheap plastic Dodgers helmet and a band major's baton slung through a belt loop of my OP shorts. Sometimes I also had a mini tape player clipped to my belt that played the CHiPs theme song.
You should message me if
You think exploring the mountains with a huge backpack sounds irresistibly fun

You're willing to sit through my unplugged performance of "Every Rose has its Thorn" while I sport my mullet wig

Chatting over an IPA is your idea of a good first date

You want to take a mushroom foraging class

You've gone backpacking at any of these places: Patagonia, Kenai Fjords, Milford Sound, the Lost Coast, the Enchantments

You either a) know what okonomiyaki is and you like it or b) don't know what it is but curious to try it. Either way, I'll make it for you
