My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Optimistic, pragmatic, polite (although I may digress occasionally) sporty, not so creative & in need of an Ok Cupid profile ghost-writer.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working in high tech in the bay area - common & cliche but challenging & fun as well.

Enjoy learning and usually take a business/technology or a foreign language/culture course at least once a year. The academic environment and exchange of ideas keeps me current and gives new perspective. Fun too.

Sporty activities and being out and about are good things. While I don't participate in too many large sporting competitions I do enjoy swimming, rowing, hiking, surfing (which for me is mostly swimming). Hiked up Half Dome for the first time in a long time last summer and was not able to go up the cables due to thunder clouds. Would like to get back there soon.

Not much of a spectator sport fan but always enjoy going to a baseball game or a super bowl / world cup party. I split my time between the city and the east bay, so I am happy to cheer clad in green or orange. Besides, if my guy had a favorite team, that is when I could watch my boring foreign films (see below).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Laughing, rowing, learning Spanish & Portuguese
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
At 5'10", I am tall, so you won't lose me in a crowd.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Generally a fan of non-fiction. Not well read and have the bad habit of starting books I don't finish. Picked up a couple of books on my last trip to Spain. "Hay vida después de la crisis" [There Is Life After The Crisis] - no, not a self-help book, it's actually about the economic crisis.

I really don't watch much TV, but when I do....
Euromaxx - news magazine
Law & Order reruns
Telemundo's poorly dubbed movies from the 90's

Hopelessly out of date and willing to listen to all types of music, but I do know my 80's tunes!

Enjoy watching foreign films in Spanish & Portuguese. I also have a sizable collection of rowing movies. Don't worry, I wouldn't subject you to watching either genre. Most guys aren't into movies with subtitles & most rowing movies are horrible. "Oxford Blues" is not the worst of them, trust me.

Always willing to try something new. Spanish friends recently gave me a cookbook. A not-so-subtle hint to learn to cook better? One recipe is called "Drunken Rabbit". It tastes just like chicken but it can get awkward when someone asks for a wing.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Of, good friends, smiles, strong coffee, spirited conversation, some nice red wine and a good laugh.

On the less common side - a good workout, low-key downtime, a quick trip to europe to visit old friends (I lived there for 5+ years). Always looking to learn something new.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Latin America lately. How to make this OKC profile better, maybe you have some ideas to share?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going for a workout with a group of friends followed by a spirited bevie or a smooth Guinness to quench the post workout thirst.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Can't admit that yet ..shh. Actually, no big secrets here. Ran with the bulls in Spain years ago, but wouldn't do it again. Actually, the fact that I don't have any big secrets or sordid details in my past might be the most private thing I could share. Occasionally, I go on Wikipedia benders, does that count?

While emails and texts can be an easy and quick way to get in contact, I believe you can only really get to know someone by talking with them and spending time in person.

Oh, and somehow I appear as always online on OKC and I don't know why (phone app?, MacBook multi-web screen?)
