My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Funny. Femme. Feminist.
Geeky. Makeout bandit. Low-maintenance.

Ideally looking for a partner in crime for kissing, dancing badly, watching basketball, and stimulating conversation.

I'm really more of a Tinderella.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I sell glasses, and I'm really good at it. I'm an optician and I will ardently and passionately discuss it at any given opportunity.

I sing karaoke all the time, and... well... I get by on my stage presence. I tweet too much about feminism, pop culture, politics and basketball. Nights that aren't spent in a dive bar listening to indie rock or dancing to retro music are spent eating vegetarian food with friends - I love keeping busy.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I have a penchant for puzzles and logic games. I can discuss almost anything with anyone (just don't expect me to be an expert). I am socially versatile, and I never feel out of place. I'm skilled orally (meaning I'm eloquent, but I know what you thought I meant. [I am that, too]). I make a lot of jokes and most of them are funny. I can probably do more sit-ups than you can, but I won't brag about it. Oh, and I clean up really nicely.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I wear glasses all the time, but most people tend to notice my smile first - I float around with a permagrin. A lot of people tell me I look like Tina Fey, and that almost always comes up early.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Oh my gosh, here goes!
Fiction: Vonnegut, Patricia Highsmith, Thomas Hardy, Zadie Smith, Annie Dillard, China Miéville, Nabokov, Ray Bradbury, Timothy Findley... I also read a lot of graphic novels and comic books - TCAF is a magical time of year for me. I judge people if they don't have at least one female writer in their list of favourites.

Music: I have pretty eclectic tastes. My favourite band is Sloan, and my favourite musicians are Suzanne Vega, Frank Turner and Elvis Costello. I love rockabilly, electro-girlpop, Scandinavian metal, math rock, folk... I will seriously listen to almost anything.

TV shows: I watch entirely too much TV. I adore anything pseudo-sci fi where a female protagonist kicks an unrealistic amount of ass like Buffy, Alias, BSG and Dark Angel. I also have a fondness for procedural dramas like White Collar, Criminal Minds and Law & Order: SVU. I also enjoy half-hour sitcoms like 30 Rock, Community, HIMYM and Just Shoot Me. Veronica Mars is the best TV show of all time and I stand by that statement. If you don't love LSP I don't know that this will work...

Movies: I love everything from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead. I have a fondness for bad monster movies, superhero blockbusters and spy movies involving lesbianism.

I'm vegetarian, but that doesn't really mean that food is limited. I love Asian foods (every kind - Japanese, Thai, Indian, Malaysian...) and baked goods. I've really gotten into cooking lately.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) "Smooth" by Santana f. Rob Thomas
2) Strong Bad emails.
3) The burning passion I have for whatever has my interest this week
4) Endorphins from riding my bike too long
5) Making humiliating and/or sexy bets
6) Lists
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why it's so difficult for a lot of people to assume the best about others.

Amateur dermatology.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Cursing my shitty sports teams. I am jealous of people who don't care about millionaire athletes, for they are better people than I.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can't tell right from left. I actually have to hold my hands out in front of me and mime writing before I can tell which is which. That said, I am a human compass and ALWAYS know north, south, east and west instinctively.

Also, I am allergic to caffeine. That one always seems to weird people out.

I frequently have to remind myself that other people have the right to exist.

You don't care that I dislike both Firefly and Radiohead. Seriously. This is a consistent problem.

You show up smelling good.

You are within my age parameters.

Please note that if you're a cis dude, I will probably ignore your messages (unless we have "liked" each other Tinder-style) so maybe don't bother because we'll both feel bad.
