My self-summary
I build software products and write code. A lot of it. I know fundraising/donor management, non-profit stuff, and Salesforce.com. I also run engineering teams in a bunch of timezones, frequently book plane tickets to odd places, dabble in another language, and just generally wander around life.
What I’m doing with my life
I've done a whole lot of things so far (couple of start-ups, some global travel, a few languages), but I'm really just interested in learning new things and taking on new projects. Talking to people and trying to understand what they are passionate about is really cool.

I spent about 18 months living out of 2 suitcases and flying from city to city. It was a TON of fun. But after sitting in an airport every 2-3 weeks, though, it gets really old. So I decided to settle down in Budapest because I like the city, the people, the weather, and the food.

I used to be in the US military (don't hold it against me), but I moved out of Boston / the US because I don't like a lot of the things (political, economic, etc..) happening there. I still fly back for business from time to time, but try to keep it short.

I spend about two hours every morning studying my German and Spanish. So far I can hold a basic conversation but that's about it.
I’m really good at
Going new places, drinking, and coffee. I also just found out that to meet new people, it's as easy as walking up to them and saying "Hi!". Who knew.

I'm an exceptional software engineer, but I'm not a computer scientist (there is a big difference). I deal in the practical implementation aspects, not the theoretical aspects, and I work with large data sets and complex problem structures.
The first things people usually notice about me
I used to be more introverted, but I've been putting a lot of effort into getting out and meeting people.

I am really smart. I could maybe be more humble, but it is true. I'm attracted to intelligence.

I pretend I can actually take pro photos. I'm really just learning how to use manual mode. -- Check out the "My Photography Style" album here on OkCupid.

My eyes change color. Sometimes they are green, sometimes blue, sometimes gray. There is probably a scientific explanation, but I've never bothered to find out. Message me if you know why.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Hungarian, Thai, and Indian food. Eating at the bar in an Irish pub. Belgian beers (dark and bitter). Foreign movies. Electronic music. Salsa dancing, sometimes. I tried tango once and it didn't really work out.

I've recently gotten back into a "visually stunning movies" thing. I love scifi'ish movies like Push, Chronicle, District 9, Hancock.

And Scrubs is in a class of its own. I'm rewatching all 9 seasons now.. halfway through season 2 at the moment.

My artist radio stations on Spotify: Ray LaMontagne, Tommy Trash, Robin Thicke, Celia Cruz, Glitch Mob, Deadmau5, Train, Ella Fitzgerald, Tool, Justice.

The Voice is an amazing show, and I didn't like Shakira as a replacement at first, but she is growing on me.
The six things I could never do without
Coffee, travel, trains & subways, passport stamps, and sitting at a bar or coffee shop chatting.

I would die without Internet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My next project or place to visit. Lately I've been wanting to go to North Korea. I feel it's one of those opportunities you only have once. I mean, really, I can't even technically visit the USSR or Yugoslavia now if I wanted.

Kiev (in the Ukraine) is on the list, so I can learn Russian.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with people, at a casual bar, or going to meetup events. I love to drink socially, but I don't really do the club thing (and never have).

Pretty much Wednesday to Saturday evenings are busy with social events, and Sunday - Tuesday I'm recovering. :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a weakness for spicy gyros. I could probably live exclusively on a gyro, beer, and soup diet.

I only have 2 serious biases: I hate fat people, and I hate stupid people. Other than that, I couldn't care less what your race, religion, lifestyle, etc.. is.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–36
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
You want to hang out, get a drink, that sort of thing. Especially if you just want to hang out or are only in Budapest for a few days, because meeting new people is always fun.
