I come from a place so small, so remote, and so far back in the sticks that I struggle to accurately tell people where I'm from when they ask. It's a part of northern Georgia so obscure that it almost defies description. I'm tired I;ll finish this thing later.

Many things, including but not limited to: making the English language my bitch, not falling out of the boat, saying absolutely the wrong thing at absolutely the wrong time, failing to get lost, analysis, slackline, teaching pretty much anything...

I honestly have no idea.

Fiction, non fiction, science fiction, actual science, I'm and information spnge and I love a well told story, so I like em' all. I'm usually reading something, maybe four or five things. Right now its Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, Miyomoto Musashi's Book of Five Rings (which I kind of re-read continuously), and A History of the Arab People by Albert Hourani. Favorites? Ed Abbey, Hunter Thompson, Hemingway of course, Anything by Carl Sagan or Ed Wilson or Alexander Solzhenitsyn.

Video wise I can't get enough Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead. Ted Talks on Hulu are kind of an ever present back ground noise at my place. Anything written by Joss Whedon is usually good (I'd give some random strangers right eye to be able to write dialog like that.) Firefly was awesome. So was the West Wing. I must have a regular Daily Show/Colbert fix on a fairly regular basis in order to retain my sense of humor and some shreds of sanity. I keep a massive hard drive full of movies, so I rarely go to the theater. But, I just went to see Ted. I laughed until popcorn came out my nose. And, I wasn't even eating popcorn. Seth McFarland is a fucking genius.

Pretty broad musical tastes here. Pretty much anything that isn't country music produced after 1990, Nickelback style wuss rock, or disingenuous pop chart crap, is on the menu. Lately its been an odd combination of Gogol Bordello, Kris Kristopherson, and Frank Sinatra.

I can and will eat anything. Any ethnicity, any ingredients, I likes my food. I really enjoy finding new great places to eat. And, my cooking's not to shabby either.

How to finance that six foot high stack of plane tickets that I dream of. The GRE. And, the prophetic nature of the movie Idiocracy.

I don't really have a "typical" friday night. I could be on my way out of town, or around a campfire, or at a bar with friends, or maybe hanging around the house. Anything is possible.

This is the internet... right? Putting things here kinda means that they're no longer "private".
