I am grading papers, procrastinating, and bored....
My Self-Summary
So... I'm new to this site and thought I'd check it out. I'm 23
years old and have lived in Phoenix for a year. I miss the snow but
love the weather here. I grew up in Ohio and came here after
graduating from college in Connecticut.
I'm pretty intense about the things I spend my time doing. I
figure, if I'm going to do it I better be pretty damn good at it.
For the most part, that means I spend an excessive amount of time
preparing for teaching. So much so that my principal told me I
shouldn't spend so much time at school or doing school work.
I started lifting at the beginning of the summer and really like
it, especially now that I'm beginning to lift heavier weights. I
like doing cardio as well, but prefer hiking or pulling the sled
over the rat wheel.
What I’m doing with my life
I just started my second year of teaching in Phoenix with Teach For
America. I teach fifth graders and absolutely love it! (I don't
plan to teach forever but for a few years...) It's scary how easy
it is to manipulate young minds but it's an awesome responsibility
as well.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at finding the simple joys in life. Sounds corny, I
know... But seriously, why do something if you don't enjoy it?
The first things people usually notice about me
My coworkers describe me as a social butterfly. I've been told that
you can't ask me the color of the sky without a half hour answer.
Sorry, I talk a lot...
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Sweeney Todd, the musical... not the new movie (haven't seen
it...)
All of the Saw movies
The six things I could never do without
Coffee, friends, family, laughter, knowledge, excitement
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm constantly trying to figure out what I should be doing with my
life. Maybe if I stopped thinking about it, the answer would come
to me...
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm usually debating how late to stay out. Saturday is squat day
and the day starts early... but I can't resist going out for a fun
Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I spend way too much time online. I'm usually multi-tasking by
doing something that needs done (during the school year it's almost
definitely grading...) but I spend an unhealthy amount of time
online.
You should message me if
You can use grammar properly. Seriously, is capitalizing "I" that
hard?
