My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
56 y.o., above average in smarts, charm and manners. Well educated (and not all of it from out of a book!) I am an individualist, and follow my own way, but would go to the ends of the earth to help a friend or a love. My definition of a friend is someone who is willing to go to the same lengths for me, that I would be willing to go for them. And that is saying a lot!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just took an early retirement, so I am not sure what my long-term goals are in lieu of working. I plan to take road trips, perhaps some cruises, and some traveling around the country and to other countries. It is yet to be seen. I know I wish to indulge in my passion which is cooking, and plan to take some classes soon. I probably will also do some local volunteer work.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
making people laugh, making people feel important.

Listening. I learned a long time ago that it is better to listen than to talk. (Abe Lincoln once said: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt." LOL)

I am also a very fine singer (well actually, the harder of hearing you are, the better I sound!).

Cooking

Writing.

Cocktails (I make such excellent Martinis, that every one I make still surprises me!)

Other stuff, but I can't reveal everything now, can I?
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well, If I am not aware of them, they might notice that I am softly singing to myself. People ask me why. I tell them: "even the dying cat purrs". That either makes them smile, look at me quizzically, or nod in acknowledgement! (LOL)

People will notice right off of that I dress well, always neatly groomed, and always look to be in a good mood. Even if I am NOT, I will try to wear a smile and offer a soft voice. It makes them feel more at ease, and helps me out of my mood, too.

I greet every new person with a "sir" or a "ma'am" (depending on their gender of course)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas; anything by Charles Bukowski; any of the four books in the Hitchhikers Guide Trilogy; Tim Dorsey (Tampa boy!) Anything by Ray Kurzweil

Movies: Lost In Translation, The Big Lebowski (well, ANYTHING from the Coen bros.), Blade Runner, Summer of 42, Local Hero.

Shows: Dexter, Breaking Bad, Wilfred, Archer (the world's most dangerous -and stupidest- spy!)

Music: too varied to go into, and most of the artists are unknown to the average listener.

Food: Anything I've never tried, a second helping if I liked it and it didn't make me sick!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
• a cool, sunny, breezy Autumn day
• a red, drop-top two seater
• time alone for me and my thoughts
•"Concerto for Chamber Orchestra and Jazz Piano Trio" by Claude Bolling
•A properly prepared and served "Vesper"
•the belief that there is even the tiniest bit of hope in us all

•At a new restaurant I've wanted to try
•Taking in live theatre
•At the movies (assuming I can pull something of value out of the quagmire that makes up today's offerings) SNOB!•Listening to live music, while drinking very lightly, and responsibly!
