My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Seattle born and raised, I've learned that keeping it light often takes finding humor in the dark. Sometimes you can learn more about a person from the questions they ask than by the answers they offer.

Do you ever make choices in your life purely for the literary value? If you could ask me any question imaginable and be guaranteed a direct and honest answer, what would it be?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently became a professional instructor of Capoeira and I teach martial arts at three elementary schools as part of an after school program. Of all the work I've done in my life these are the most challenging two hours out of any day and yet incredibly rewarding as well. Capoeira has me learning Portuguese and in addition to dance-styled martial arts, I am challenged to get good at Afro-Brazilian percussion.

As an A/V & networking technician I support several local music venues. Recently, I started work as a maritime electrician on a fleet of ships and they discovered I had extensive CAD drafting skills so now I am charged with creating drawings for all systems in the fleet (that's about a year+ of work and some).

In my private life I am a writer and currently working to complete a novel I have been writing for over two years now. I love to snowboard and swim and I visit a different foreign county at least once a year.

I've lived in warehouses all my adult life and currently live in a converted industrial complex of buildings that I was the designer, construction & property manager of for eight years. Now I'm just happy to dwell in my loft and be an artist in a great community of crazy people that I love.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Reading people, capturing an audience, motorcycling and exploring the deeper meanings in life.

Sadly, I've had to give up motorcycling. It seems the police and I have a significant difference in what we consider "reasonably safe" on a motorcycle. The upshot is that I learned an important lesson - poor impulse control and a bad attitude toward authority need to remain in two very separate boxes. So I drive cars now after a lifetime of motorcycling and honestly, it feels a little bit like driving a living room with wheels - kinda weird.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told that my confidence proceeds me, that I'm fearless and have an easy smile. I like to imagine the deeper people notice a sense of humanity that runs through me with a kind of passion that can be intense at times.

For 30 years I have been a media access activist. Yes, that means I copy everything and offer it to everybody I can... for free. The collection I maintain currently contains 7000 movies and 70,000 Audio tracks. Because of my interest in film I have over 5000 movies that I consider my favorites and yet still think of myself as very picky when it comes to cinema. But If I had to cut it to just the essentials:
Metropolis, the Third Man, Bicycle Thieves, Casablanca, Cool Hand Luke, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Yojimbo, Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo, THX1138, Taxi Driver, Alien, Blade Runner, Diva, Koyaanisqatsi, Akira, Zentropa, Se7en, City of Lost Children, Princess Mononoke, Shawshank Redemption, Matrix, Fight Club, Memento, City of God, Old Boy, I Heart Huckabee's, V for Vendetta, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Youth in Revolt, Wall-E, Bad Teacher, Inception, Life of Pi.

Favorite books: Jean-Paul Sartre's the Wall, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, the Road, the Life of Pi, Madness and Civilization, and a Writer's Journey.

Recent music tracks: Chinese Man, Filistine, Rjd2, the XX, Calexico, Crystal Castles

There will always be a place in my heart for Blade Runner. That's the movie I sneaked into as a kid that change how I would see films forever.

When someone asks you if you are a happy person you don't have to think twice before answering yes. We've all had our share of hard knocks - rarely can we control what happens to us but we can control how we perceive it. Understanding that you cannot forgive what you have not first condemned is a hint at the way I navigate the tougher sides of life. If that appeals to you, you probably appeal to me.

On the humorous side (which is far more important than many others), know, or look up the definition of callipygous and believe that it applies to you. With all of these things being true - I've already half fallen for you. the other half... takes a little more work ;)
