I am sarcastic, dedicated, and hilarious.

My Self-Summary

I am old-fashioned, yet modern. I am sarcastic, but it comes from a place of love and affection. I adore chivalrous men, but don't like feeling helpless. I can have fun dancing in a club or watching football/hockey on the couch or - even better - going to a game! I enjoy take-out and a soda probably more than fancy, lavish dinners. I think bowling and mini-golf are perfectly acceptable dates. I enjoy museums, the opera and theater. I like to stay busy, but love sleeping in. I prefer to have things scheduled out, but need to be able to be spontaneous every now and again. I love going to a new place and exploring with my camera, but would rather have company while doing it.

I come from a large family and they are incredibly important to me. I need someone who understands the value of friends and family and isn't afraid to meet new people (including my overprotective friends and strange, but welcoming family!).

I am looking for someone who is fun, adventurous, wild and crazy, but knows when to tone it down and be more subdued. Open my door and pull out my chair, but don't freak out if I pick up the check. Hold my hand as we walk, but don't smother me. Let me try to open the pickle jar, but be ready for me to hand it over to you in the end.

I am constantly surprising myself.

What I’m doing with my life

Well, I taught kindergarten for 2 years and then they told me I needed to go back to school full time in order to complete my license. Since that wasn't an option at the time, I decided to pursue one of my hobbies as an actual career. Now, I am a professional photographer. I work at a portrait studio in Fairfax (yeah, I sold my soul to the man...) BUT I am in the start-up stage of getting my own freelance business up and running.

I’m really good at

capturing moments, breaking tension, giving back rubs, quoting bad movies, making small children smile, scrapbooking, baking, and board games.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm "the funny one." I'm almost always laughing.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I read Cosmo every month and do the Washington Post crossword almost every day.

My iPod shuffles through most genres, including soundtracks to Broadway musicals, local rock bands and old school "pop/rap" music. Favorites include Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Avenue Q, Colbie Callait, A Fine Frenzy, Third Eye Blind, Ludacris (the old stuff!) and many, many, many more!

I I know what I like and stick with it. I'll usually try new things, but end up right back to my usual.

I have seen every episode of Grey's Anatomy, I love Myth Busters and am mildly obsessed with HGTV and the Food Network.

The six things I could never do without

My family/friends
my camera
my cell phone
flip flops
gum
sweet tea

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Why men wear plaid shorts...

Why people think popped collars look good...

Why Asian women from Maryland suck at driving...

On a typical Friday night I am

There is no typical Friday night for me... Sometimes I'm at work, sometimes I'm at the movies with friends, sometimes I'm at a bar in DC, sometimes I'm curled up in bed watching a movie or reading.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I love watching crappy "reality" television. I know it's not "reality" but I find it oddly entertaining.

You should message me if

you think we'll hit it off. I know, I know, not a very original answer, but what can I say?
