Been dating a cool guy monogamously for a grip of months now. It's going well. I've found all sorts of cool friends from OKC, though, and that's what I'm aiming to accomplish here these days.

I've been moving around a lot lately. Currently I'm in California. Not my favorite place to be, but it could definitely be worse. I'd trade sunshine for rain any day of the week. I think, optimally, I'd live in a cobblestone and wood castle on Ganymede or Titan with a Nether portal network linking back to Earth for faster travel.

If you ask me to play Pretty Pretty Princess with your little sister, I will crush her, not because I want to be the PPP, but to demonstrate that accomplishing goals requires effort.

I am habitually aloof, not not cute, and true to my school.

Being massively broke, drawing my comic(s), freelance arting (when I can get it) and playing instruments. I'm getting better at ukulele, but my timing is still pretty miserable. That's what GarageBand is for, though! Hey look, it's a embarrassing video of me playing ukulele.

Drawing, inking, coloring. If it's creative, I'll probably enjoy/have some aptitude for it.

I get told I'm austere pretty frequently. I don't know if people mean it disparagingly or not, but it does seem strangely specific. A friend recently told me that I'm a lot more affable in person than I appear in photos and via text, so I guess the first thing people notice about me is an inaccurate projection of self.

Comics: The Invisibles, The Filth, Animal Man, Doom Patrol, Planetary are all pretty fantastic. New X-Men and All-Star Superman are obscene in their quality. Bendis' Daredevil is also great. Frank Quitely is definitely one of my favorite artists. The man is a one point perspective beast.

Word-Books: Galápagos is my favorite of the less obvious Vonneguts. I'm also a fan of The Stranger, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, Solaris, Lolita, et cetera. My Kindle's name is Ice-Nine.

Movies: The Birds, Alien, Terminator 2, Scanners, Up, and so forth.

TV: The Prisoner, Farscape, The Wire, Six Feet Under, Pushing Daisies, The Star Treks (to varying degrees), The IT Crowd, Doctor Who, Deadwood, Twin Peaks.

Music: The Magnetic Fields, Pixies, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Bright Eyes, ABBA, The Magnetic Fields, Neko Case, The Beach Boys, Sugarcubes, The Magnetic Fields, Rilo Kiley, The New Pornographers, Amanda Palmer, The Magnetic Fields, Dar Williams, others. My favorite albums last year were I'm Having Fun Now by Jenny and Johnny and The Suburbs by Arcade Fire. So far this year it's Eureka by Mother Mother.

Games: Team Fortress 2 (I have so many hats), Metroid/Castlevania, music games. Cooperation and exploration. I manage a small Minecraft server for my closest, most trusted friends. Good times had by all. Except for in the Nether, because that place is boring.

Food: Thai food. Curry is pretty good in general. Lots of food is good.

Stephin Merritt, oranges, smooth bristol, internet access, instruments, and a pair of reliable sunglasses (mine are prescription!).

If I ever get trapped on a desert island, though, I'll settle for just Stephin Merrit. I'll be the Anni-Frid to his Agnetha and maybe finally get good at singing harmony.

On the macro level, I think about lines, composition, and language. Kim Deal, John McVie and Paul McCartney. I guess those are another six things I couldn't do without. On a practical, daily scale I spend a lot of time thinking about the stories I'm writing/editing/drawing. Out of necessity. Sideburns are also great. I think about those a lot, too.

You know those people who always have the same pose/smile in every photo they take? I think that is my phobia. Those people terrify me. It's so uncanny, and not in a good, X-Men way.

I used to have an Australian accent (having learned English in Australia), but I crushed it mercilessly. Its revenge takes the form of [əʉ]s in words like "no".

If you don't read my username as "23 for you." I really should have thought that one out better. At least I'm not coincidentally 23 anymore. Also, a big caveat here: you should message me if you think being/having a cheap date is actually better than a fancy/expensive one.

If you can play the bass line of Sweet-Lovin' Man by The Magnetic Fields, do not hesitate. I really like playing music with others, even if I'm shy about it because I'm not very good yet.
