My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved to Chicago 6 years ago from the East Coast. While I'm no longer a stranger to the city, there's still plenty of new things to see and do that keep me excited to be living here. Though I have good friends and a younger sister to enjoy time with, I'd like to find someone with whom I can build a deeper relationship.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do biomedical research at University of Chicago. In my spare time I play piano, solve lots of crosswords (and write a few myself), and I am a member of one of the most kickass trivia teams in Chicago.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Answering trivia questions about science, US Presidents, geography, and movies/Academy Awards. A handful of Chopin nocturnes and other small piano works. Making chili for Sunday football gatherings.

I guess I could also put protein crystallography here, since that was what I did for my PhD. But it's really hard to work protein crystals into dating, unless your idea of a date is a trip to the synchrotron, or you're really into jewelry that you need a microscope to see.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Definitely the beard.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books. Most Michael Crichton novels; Don Quijote; One Hundred Years Of Solitude.

Movies. The Godfather. Rushmore. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Inception.

Shows. Breaking Bad, Archer, The Wire, Luther, Orange Is The New Black (I confess! It is an awesome show, though.)

Music. There's Beethoven, and there's everything else.

Food. Fish and chips, fried clams, lobster rolls (from my New England roots). Burgers on pretzel buns and all things pork. And sometimes nothing beats Nutella on toast and a chocolate milkshake.

Drink. Belgian beers, winter ales, Old Fashioneds.

NB These lists are by no means complete.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee
Hot showers
Weather report
Fall foliage
Homemade meatballs (done the right way, with beef, pork, and veal)
Music collection
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to do good science, stories I hear on NPR, where to eat next.

you see yourself as intelligent and outgoing. You feel happy with who you are and where you are in life. You have a good sense of humor and something of a sassy streak. Your idea of a good conversation doesn't involve a string of text messages.
