I sometimes feel like a vampire and that makes it hard to date in
Southern California...it seems everybody loves the sunshine while I
prefer to avoid it at all costs. How does one plan a date around
that? Guess Im just funny that way. I have not nor will I ever wear
a flat brim hat, anything Ed Hardy, sequined jeans, pre-distressed
jeans, basketball jerseys, a wife-beater in public, jewelry of any
sort, a wool cap that only covers 3/4's of my head, or
I am a contrary-to-whats-popular kind of guy. I think it stems from
being a middle child. I work out as often as I can but I do not
care about sports...at all. Imagine that.
What I’m doing with my life
The last 6 months have been spent re-entering the world of theater.
I was cast in two productions of Les Mis and a workshop run of The
Wild Party. Performing is something I loved doing when I was
younger and it has been wonderful to get in touch with that aspect
of my creativity again. It is something that I plan on continuing
to persue. Lately, when I am not working, I have been spending my
time rock climbing and playing guitar.
More to the point I am trying to find a companion for my life and
my lifestyle. Someone better than myself and someone who makes me
want to be better than myself. Inspiring, open, enigmatic, driven,
admirable...and other adjectives. I have never had much luck in
dating or relationships and I am trying not to let it bum me out
but it has really taken its toll on me. Fortunately I am stubborn
and determined to make it happen.
I’m really good at
Saying or doing anything possible to make people laugh. I have no
shame and rarely edit myself.
Wishing I was in a classic noir film.
Creating delicious cocktails with seemingly benign/useless or even
I got mad karaoke skills. Really anything musical I have a knack
for it. I learned to play the ukelele in a few hours.
Mocking people mercilessly way past the point of putting my foot in
The first things people usually notice about me
That air of mystery surrounding me....
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music makes the world go round. My tastes are all over the place
but my not so secret love is jazz/swing standards. Sinatra, Dean
Martin, Tony Bennett, Harry Connick Jr, Michael Buble, and artists
of that ilk...I think my brain is hard-wired to love a good horn
section. Other faves Tom Waits, David Bowie, Elvis Costello and
early Muse-before they decided they were the second coming of
I am the guy who knows everything about movies and TV. I am like a
one man IMDB. A good number of my conversations involve quoting
movies from American Psycho to Fight Club to Tommy Boy. I studied
film and screenwriting in college so it is something I am
In my down time at work I have been reading lately but have yet to
find anything that really blows my mind. Even the old go-to's like
Chuck Palahniuk and Nick Hornsby seem to be letting me down. When I
was a kid my favorite book was The Outsiders.
Food let me see....I make my own corned beef. Do I need to say
The six things I could never do without
The Monte Cristo sandwich at Studio Diner
My Chuck Taylors'
My over-active imagination
Cold showers on a hot day
A cheap pair of sunglasses
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Dialogue. Characters. Scenes. Funny quips. Why people watch
"reality" television. Why I am single. Why nobody uses the term
On a typical Friday night I am
Hitting up a brewery even though I don't really like beer, hanging
with the gang, enjoying a bite to eat, and some more libations in
hopes of forgetting Mon through Thurs happened.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Hall and Oates are the greatest band ever.
You should message me if
If you are not afraid to put aside classic gender rules and
initiate a conversation especially if I said something to spark
your interest. I have a tendency to say a great deal without saying
much at all but I am a talented, thoughtful, honest guy once you
wade past all the b.s. and defense mechanisms. I am rough around
the edges sure but even if I seem the opposite of who or what you
are maybe that is not such a bad thing. I firmly believe in
opposites attracting...to me that seems like a recipe for
