My self-summary
After finishing grad school, I decided to try my hat at living life in the big apple and 5 years later am still loving every second of it! I'm originally from NC, and got a few degrees in classical music before deciding to go in a different direction. I love being an artist and find that I'm particularly drawn to those who appreciate this part of their nature. Overall, I'm happy with where and who I am and am looking for someone who is the same.

I am spontaneous, friendly, and witty
What I’m doing with my life
I recently moved back into nonprofit and couldn't be happier. I really love my job. I'm still actively singing as well, which makes for a busy schedule. I love living in a city that allows me to do both.
I’m really good at
singing, google mapping, finding things that seem impossible to locate. I'm really good at creatively organizing activities. I love learning new things and take up new hobbies often. At the moment, I'm attempting to become better acquainted with French and German, learn more about photography (just bought my first DSLR), and re-learn guitar.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm fairly tall, measuring almost six feet without heels, so I would say that's first.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I've always been a big reader and sadly don't get to do it nearly enough anymore. I've picked it back up a little now that I have an e-reader a la iPhone app for subway time. I love poetry and great Victorian novels, but lately have been trying to keep up with the current best sellers.

Movies: I like optimistic endings, even when they're not terribly realistic.

Music: Almost anything, except I'm not a huge fan of mainstream country or hardcore anything (rock, rap, etc.)

Food: I feel like these categories are getting progressively harder to pinpoint favorites, but here goes....
I love good food, from fine dining to hole in the wall burger joints. Incidentally, have you been to Burger Joint in the city? It's pretty awesome. I think some of the best food I've ever eaten in my life has been in the most unlikely places. I'll try anything once (except cucumbers), and I think NYC is one of the best places in the world to live if you have an eclectic palette. Did I mention that I hate cucumbers?
The six things I could never do without
- Friends/Family
- Movies
- A good book
- Simon my cat
- Different perspectives
- Sense of adventure
I spend a lot of time thinking about
why people are constantly trying to find happiness instead of just being happy. It's not like life doles out merit badges, right? Also, I think about all the places I want to travel to someday. In the meantime, I'm finding small ways to feed my addiction...which incidentally makes me very happy. I really have a strong urge to go to Iceland all of the sudden. Glacier tour, anyone?
On a typical Friday night I am
usually doing something random and fun.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am still afraid of the dark.
