My self-summary
I love to read. I wish I read more than I do, but I'm not fast enough to read 100 books a year like some people. I mostly read fiction because I want to write fiction. Those people that read all nonfiction all the time are missing out on some epic stuff. :)

I like board games, but not as much as most people that say they like board games do (there's gotta be a better way to phrase that). I do own quite a few Dominion expansions, though, so if you like that game, we have at least one date idea on the table already.

I played Mario a lot as a kid (NES and N64--my dad opted for the Sega instead of the SNES, so I missed out on Super Mario Bros 3, but at least I got to experience some Sonic the Hedgehog). When I saw the game where I could build my own Mario worlds on the Wii U, I seriously considered getting a consol. But since I'm trying to spend at least some free time developing my writing skills, I've yet to take the plunge.

I wish I could say I love to be active, but the closest I can get at this point is that I would love to love to be active. I'm trying, though. Habit changes like that seem like a permanent work in progress.

I live with my sister and have two cats. I used to be Mormon, but I'm not anymore. Grapefruit is my favorite scent. Courier is my favorite font. And I can't wait for X-Files to start up again in January.

The should cover the basics. :D
What I’m doing with my life
I am a fulfillment manager at a digital advertising company. I make sure everyone on my team likes their job and that we have fun on a regular basis. Work takes up so much of our lives. The more of it you can enjoy, the happier you'll be.

If I could choose any job and instantly be awesome enough at it to make a decent living, I'd be a fiction writer. I've won NaNoWriMo twice (2012 & 2015--if you know what this is then I like you already), but don't like either books enough to share what I wrote. But writing takes practice. I just need to buckle down and put the hours in.
I’m really good at
I'd say I'm pretty funny, but in a subtle and oftentimes sarcastic way as opposed to the three-guys-walk-into-a-bar way. I'm also overly concerned with making people feel comfortable and from what I can tell, I manage that pretty well.

I'm not too shabby at grammar, either.
The first things people usually notice about me
The first thing people would notice (or maybe the one thing someone might remember) about me would probably be the hilarious and/or stupid comments I just blurted out (hopefully hilarious more so than stupid, but that might be a matter of opinion).

My favorite books are Jane Eyre, Catcher in the Rye, and Peter Pan.

My favorite movies are Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, Darjeeling Limited, and Millennium Actress.

My favorite shows are The X-Files, Scrubs, and Grimm.

My favorite bands are U2, The Killers, and Arcade Fire.

My favorite foods are cheese, bread, and beer.

On a typical Friday night I am
I'm usually at home reading, seeing a movie that just came out, or going out to eat.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

You should message me if
Send me a message if you actually read my whole profile and have something more than "hi there" to say. :) (It's surprising how many "hi there"s I still get.)
