I am creative, colorful, and caring.
My Self-Summary
I'm a preschool teacher, and I absolutely love children. I'm
creative, artsy, and enjoy shopping, reading, cooking, and low-key
hanging out. I'm also uber liberal, environmentally concerned, and
as much as I identify with three year olds, I have a dark sense of
humor and curse like a sailor.
What I’m doing with my life
I laugh at potty jokes, build with blocks, read picture books, and
play monster on the playground... I teach 3-year-olds. It's what
I've always wanted to do and I love it.
I’m really good at
being honest, making messes, shopping, taking care of children (and
adults who act like children- my roomate!), baking and the domestic
arts (ala Martha Stewart, without the whole prison thing), color
coordinating
The first things people usually notice about me
-I'm tall (for a girl)
-I wear/love polka dots! Also- bright colors!
-I don't frequently smile, even though I'm a happy person
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Given my occupation, I tend to read mostly picture books- I
love Mo Willems, Maurice Sendak, and Eric Carle. If you've never
read it, pick up a copy of "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" by
Mo Willems... it's fantastic!
Movies: Empire Records, Love Actually, Breakfast Club, Legally
Blonde, 500 Days of Summer
Music: top-40 and Indy-pop, mostly I listen to the radio in the
car, I like quiet when I'm at home. Favorite bands/artists are
Barenaked Ladies, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson.
Food: I'm a vegetarian, but I don't care if other people eat meat.
I love Indian, Thai, Italian, Chinese, string cheese, pesto,
cupcakes...
TV: Boston Legal (so sad it's over), West Wing, I loved Veronica
Mars, House, Desperate Houswives
The six things I could never do without
1) Polka dots
2) My shoes (all of them- they count as one thing!)
3) Jon Stewart
4) Whole Foods and Trader Joes
5) My lovely roomates
6) My family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-Shopping... it's an addiction...
-My students and new things to do in my classroom
-My environmental footprint
-The tune to singing the alphabet backwards... anyone know?
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday nights are hard- after 5 long days of teaching I'm usually
ready to have a mellow night and go to bed early.
Saturdays I'm much more awake! I enjoy going out to dinner or just
hanging out with my friends watching movies. I'm not a big fan of
loud clubs or bars, I'd prefer to stay in and cook.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
If I admit it here, it wouldn't be private.
You should message me if
You are serious, but still know how to enjoy life. You are
family-oriented, have a stable career, and a strong sense of self.
A sense of humor is a must; so is an appreciation of creativity.
