shy & quiet, often sarcastic, and random at times
My self-summary Propose an edit
I'm fairly new to the Edmonton area, moved here from a small town
in southern Alberta. Don't know anybody here or have any friends in
the city and would like to meet some people. I prefer to have 2 or
3 really close friends than 10 people I rarely get to spend time
with. I like to be able to trust all my friends and I am loyal to
them, I would do anything to help a friend in need, and they all
know it. I would also expect the same thing from them.
I am quite shy when you first meet me, but when I open up you get
to see who I really am, I am very easy to get along with, or so
I've been told. I like people with a good sense of humor even
though my own may be skewed. I tend to like the more vulgar humor:
South Park, Kevin Smith, Denis Leary, and 2 words "Distorted View" google it,
but I warn you - it's not for the easily offended.
I don't drink ( I mean I really don't drink. Like at all) so I
don't particularly like to be around people who drink a lot, having
a drink or two is fine but being trapped in bars with a dozen
drunks is just too much for me. I do go to pool halls or a pub once
in a while but not too often. A nice night for me is at home or at
the theater watching a movie. I watch a lot of movies. I'm not
really big on outdoor sports, I like golf, basketball, rock
climbing, mountain biking, skiing and hockey. I used to play piano,
but have since forgot almost everything I learned, but would like
to learn how to play guitar
I'm not really a "dater". I have been single for forever
(seriously) I would like to meet someone and I hope to get a
meaningful relationship out of it, but, I'm
mainly looking to make new friends. If I do happen to meet
someone and we get to know each other and decide we want to have
more than just friendship, I'm all for that, but I like to give it
time to form. I don't want to rush into anything too quickly.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Working. I run my own business. Sadly, that's really about it. I
wish I could say that I had a social life, but I really don't.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Listening, I'm really not much of a talker, but I can listen and
give decent advise if it's needed or requested.
Fixing Computers and other electronic gadgets, I'm the family's
Tech support guy.
I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm really good at it, but, I was
good at Math (Algebra in particular) in High School. I was always
helping everyone with what they thought was the most confusing
subject, and for some reason it made sence to me.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
Nothing really. People tend to not notice me. You're here, what did
you notice?
Probably not something you want to mention in a dating site, but my
best friend once told me I have the eyes of a serial killer. I'm
not sure what to make of it, but I think it's a bad thing. Right?!?
I think that I need a second opinion.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
Books - No favorites really, I don't read books that often. I'm
currently obsessed with Chuck Palahnuik. I've read "Fight Club",
"Survivor", and "Invisible Mosters" I'm working on "Choke" right
now. In the recent past, I've read "Digital Fortress" & "The
DaVinci Code" both by Dan Brown and "The Hitchhiker's Guide to The
Galaxy - A Trilogy in 5 Parts" by Doug Adams, and Stephen King's
"On Writing" (I've read most of his books). I do read a lot of news
and blogs, stuff like Digg and engadget, and the typical "guy"
magazines Maxim and FHM...
Movies - Sooo Many. Donnie Darko, Femme Fatale, Fight Club, Chasing Amy (Or any Kevin Smith
Movie), Pulp
Fiction (or any Tarantino really), go, High Fidelity any John Cusack
movie really, (a hopeless romantic perhaps?) Moulin Rouge, The Scream Trilogy, Empire Records, Phonebooth. The list
could go on, and on...
Music - My Taste in Music is totally schizophrenic (is it sad I can
spell that without spellcheck?). I have been known to go from
Bubblegum pop to German death metal in about 5 minutes. Currently
in iPod are:Bowling For Soup, The Streets, Lily Allen, Straylight Run,
She Wants
Revenge, Morningwood, Beastie Boys, The Bloodhound Gang,
Linkin Park vs Jay-Z "Collision Course", Marvelous 3, Jack's Manaquin, Blue October,
Train, Say Anything,
Fountains
of Wayne, The Phantom of
The Opera Soundtrack, Modest Mouse, Marion Raven, Dashboard
Confessional, Muse, The Beatles the new CD "Love" is
cool, and Across the Universe was excellent Matt Dusk, Michael Buble, Paul Anka (Rock Swigs is pure
genius!), Yellowcard, and great example of my
odd taste in music: William Shatner's "Has
Been"
Foods - I'll eat anything except seafood really. I don't do fish.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
In No Particular Order: 1)Music 2)Internet - need to keep up with
what's happening in the world 3)Work (It seems odd to say, but I
get really bored if I'm not doing anything productive) 4)Sleep
5)TiVo - Greatest Invention EVER! 6)Family & Friends
The Six Things I COULD do without: 1)Cell Phones 2)Rush Hour
Traffic 3)Most people 4)Poorly designed roads with concrete
dividers that won't let me turn the direction I want to 5)Waiting
in Line 6)Radio DJ's (but the majority of my audio listening is
Spoken Word, go figure!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Everything. My mind tends to wander sometimes. Here are some
questions that plague my mind:
Why is it called a pair of pants? It's only 1 part.
Same goes for scissors. Is each blade a single scissor?
How do they get the caffeine out of decaffeinated coffee?
Was the Orange named because it was orange colored or was it the
other way around?
Why is there no blue food? (Blueberries are Purple and Mold isn't
food)
How do they get the seeds out of seedless watermelons?
The first guy to drink Cow's milk, Genius or Pervert?

Paradise, Listening to Music, Out to dinner with family or

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I don't have anything that is private. Sure, there is a lot that I
haven't said and I could say about myself, but different people
want to know different things about me. I don't have any secrets.
If you want to know something, ask me. I'll tell you. I don't go
about telling my life story to everyone I met, but if someone asks
a serious question, they will get a serious answer. It's just that
simple.
