My self-summary
In case you were wondering (which you weren't), my Erdos-Bacon number is undefined, sadly.

I'm fairly-somewhat-kinda nerdy and enjoy sci-fi (culture, stories, shows), web comics, and computers, though I'd like to think I'm still fairly well rounded (note the complete lack of neck-beard). I enjoy the solitude of nature, but I'm pretty attached to my internetz / games. I make no apologies for this. I enjoy a good heated political debate, and have very progressive leanings that are driven by altruism. I'd like to say that I'm a minimalist, but then I look at all the crap I've accumulated and realize that I'm full of shit. Let's just say that I don't consider life a pissing contest to see who can get the biggest house and nicest car. I love music and play the guitar, trumpet, and bongos to a high degree of mediocrity.

Now for the formulaic bit: I'm hoping to meet like-minded people to expand my social circle, but I'm open to a variety of situations - excluding a bona fide relationship. I'm in a long term, happy and healthy relationship and I'm not looking to change up that dynamic, but anything else is allowed and possible. Really though, I have no expectations. So yeah. Say something. You'll get a cookie.
What I’m doing with my life
I finished school a ways back, crawling to the end upside down backwards and blindfolded over an expanse of hot jagged rocks delightfully scented with month-old sulfurous biscuit gravy, and received my BA in English Literature, which has so far proven to be the Edsel of college degrees. For this degree to actually be worth the (surprisingly thin) paper it's printed on, I'd need to get more schooling - and I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

I'm currently heading up day-to-day operations for a small technology consulting firm in the Seattle area. I love getting my hands on new devices and making computers dance for people, so I'd say it's a good fit.

Eventually I hope to move and go explore the world, but I'm too much of a wuss to even start considering the details of that yet. Right now I'm dabbling in self improvement. I'll be a show dog yet.
I’m really good at
Figurin'. Nerding it up. Taking the "middle path". Over analyzing. Appreciating the oddity of it all. Being diplomatic.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, I've got a bit of a schnoz on me, so there's that. Maybe my sideways smirk if you're lucky.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Stuff like:

- Literature: anything by Chaucer (Book of the Duchess, Canterbury Tales), Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow, Sherman Alexie (short stories, Reservation Blues), Camus' The Stranger, Philip K Dick, The Stone Diaries, Everything is Illuminated, Ghost World, Dictionary of the Khazars.

- Movies: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Dandelion, Man on the Moon, Breaking Away, Dirty Pretty Things, High Fidelity, Moon.

- Music: Lots of indie stuff usually. I've been on an alt-country / Americana kick lately though My Last FM

- Food: curry, salmon, gourmet sandwiches, key-freakin'-lime-pie.
The six things I could never do without
You mean besides food, air, water, shelter, atmosphere and gravity?

Eh. Probably some stuff.

I am one of those suckers who needs internet hooked up to my veins though.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Societal problems. The universe. What's the next step? Where did I get all this junk? And apparently I'm great at remembering and analyzing cringe-worthy awkward things that I said as a twelve year old when I'm trying to sleep.
On a typical Friday night I am
Lame. At home getting ready for bed. Probably on the internet. Unfortunately I work early every Saturday.

Ideally, I might be playing Munchkin with a few rambunctious friends while throwing back a drink or two. Or sitting in a circle on the kitchen floor doing the old jabber-jaw.

  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–32

You should message me if
you want to, and you can tell by my antics that I'm someone you'd have a good time talking to. You're human and don't have aspirations to overcome this.
