I have so many favorite books. My tastes are pretty eclectic, and I
have several full bookcases in my house as well as a few hundred
books on my kindle. I've probably read the Kushiel's Legacy series
10 times, I have every book Tom Clancy has ever written, I often
reread books that I read as a child (A Wrinkle in Time will always
have my heart), if I had to choose only one book to take with me to
a desert island, it would probably be Brave New World, and Buffy
and Philosophy is at the top of my "to read" list.
I prefer TV to movies because the stories last longer, and I have
quite a collection of TV on DVD. I like sci-fi, so give me a
vampire (slayer) or zombie and I'm happy. The Walking Dead pretty
much continually blows my mind; How I Met Your Mother, Community,
The Big Bang Theory, New Girl and The League never fail to make me
laugh; Once Upon a Time is fairy tale redemption; I learned
everything I need to know about survival in life from Sydney
Bristow of Alias; LOST will forever be one of the most amazing
experiences of my life; and I plan on calling out sick the day
Netflix releases the new 10-episode season of Arrested Development.
I'm also recently obsessed with Doctor Who, which pretty much puts
my geek card at a full count, but I'm not too upset about
that.
I love music of almost every kind, but my favorite genres are 80s
rock, 90s alternative, and anything indie/folky. I love Etta James,
City and Colour, The Script, Ed Sheeran, Florence + the Machine,
Kate Voegele, Hootie and the Blowfish, Glen Hansard, Bryan Adams,
Jonny Lang, Gavin Degraw, Levi Kreis, Tyler Hilton, Blackmore's
Night, Jason Mraz, Old Crow Medicine Show, Mumford & Sons,
Counting Crows...and so many more. My top three favorite songs are
"Imagine" by John Lennon, "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas, and
"Fairytale" by Sara Bareilles.
I like variety in food, but my favorite types are Mediterranean,
sushi, and Indian. I don't care to eat at chain restaurants, so I'm
lucky that I live in a city with unique places to try.
