My self-summary Propose an edit

Too much to say, much less type. Not very good at self summaries, but here it goes anyway.
I am a very outdoorsy type person, that is I enjoy being outdoors. Especially the mountains or near running water. I live in the city, but cannot go for very long without getting out in the woods somewhere. Somehow the simple grandeur of the great outdoors brings me closer to reality and makes me feel grounded. To me, it is the masterpiece of all masterpieces. From a tiny pebble on the beach to the North Star, I am always awe struck by the incredible beauty of this world.
I love to listen to music and it is a neccessity in my life. No music, no life. I cannot put into words how I feel about music. There are no words to do it justice. Music moves my soul and constitutes part my own personal religion. But, I will not get into that now.......
I am an average female....well, maybe a little above average. My friends say I am striking and unique (but that may just be their way of saying I am different.)I do not look my age and I definitely do not act it. I often wonder if I qualify to be a real grownup. (lol) I am extremely straight-forward and honest. I am a very independent person and I like to have my own space. I consider myself to be very mature. I am very devoted and loyal to all my friends and family. My dogs and other pets are a top priority on my friendship list. I have found them to always be the most loyal and true. No offense to anyone, it is just their nature to love unconditionally.

Living it the best I can.

I try to approach each day as a new beginning. I try to be thankful for everyday and every opportunity.

Note the word "try". To quote Yoda, "there is no try, just do"

And as a friend of mine always says, "any day I am on this side of the dirt is a good day."

And in the end, it's all good.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

A lot of things. I am very good at my job and I enjoy my work. Everyday is a learning experience and that is one reason I like it so much. It can also be very entertaining at times.I am very good at dealing with people.

I am a very good listener, but I also like to ask a lot of questions. I have great respect for the fact that life always has something to teach us.

I am very good with plants and I love to garden, however, the lack of rain the past 2 years has put a damper on that hobby (at least outside gardening). I have a home-made pond. I also have several rock gardens that require little maintenance or water. I spend way too much time re-arranging them or adding new rocks and succulents than I should. Most people just see them as piles of rocks not knowing I have spent countless hours working on my piles (lol).

I am a very good cook and baker. I do not do either as often as I would like to. I also have a knack for picking out music that suits the occassion...as well as the right wine (at least I like to think so.)

I am very good at asking other people about themselves. I like to try to make people feel good about themselves and their lives.

I have a very good sense of humor and tend to make people laugh. It can be a little twisted at times, but most people I share it with 'get it'.

I am very kind and always try to do unto others as I would have them do unto me. Sound so cliche', but it is true.

I am extremely honest and can come off as being too blunt at times - but I think that is more of a good triat than a bad one. I am not rude, just truthful. I am a very perceptive person. I do understand feelings are everywhere and are easily damaged.

I should have summarized this section and said I am just good....find out for yourself (lol) All this stuff just scratches the surface of what I am good at and this is just the "G" rated version. (lol)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

This catagory could go on for pages and pages. I have many, many, many favorites.

This is hard because there are so many great movies, actors and actresses. Authors, poets, comedians, writers, directors. And musicians, do not even get me started there. There are just a lot of great people out there who share their insight, wisdom and talent to make the world a more interesting place.
But for basic general purposes: I love Robin Williams - so anything with him is always good. He was great in "Man of the Year" and his stand up is just comedy at it's best. Richard Pryor - a master.
I love the Lord of the Rings (books and movies), Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Toy Story, The Toy, The Jungle Book, Predator, Platoon, Dances with Wolves, Trading Places, Coming to America, The Last Tango in Paris, Casablanca, Eragon...... the list could go on and on. Those are just a few that pop to mind at the moment. Some of the ones I can watch over and over. There are so many good movies out there. I have not seen a lot of movies because I worked night hours for a very long time. Never have been much of a t.v. watcher due to the same reason. I enjoy them, do not get me wrong. I am just usually busy with something or something else pops up that is more appealing to me than sitting in front of the t.v. or in a movie theater.
I like to read mainly non-fiction - either historical books or philosophical type books. I grew up reading sci-fiction. I do a lot of reading at my job, so it is usually the last thing I want to do in my free time.
Music is such a part of my life it is impossible to describe with mere words. I like mostly classic rock (hard and soft), blues, and old classic country music. I do not like rap, hip-hop, or opera.
I like hot and spicey food and especially bbq - anything on a grill beats the oven. Mexican, Thai, and Italian would be my top three choices if I were going out. I love good home-made southern style cooking and it is hard to find. Really I like most anything. I am not a picky eater.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

Friendships, music, the great outdoors, good love, my pets, great sex and money.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

That's a dangerous question. Have to think on that one.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

At home or at a friend's house. Listening to music or watching a movie. Just hangin out.
I do not like the bar or the dance club scene. Been there, done that. Besides, it is almost impossible to find a place that is not populated by an average crowd of drunk people under the age 30 that do not have too much to say (at least anything intelligent.)
I do ocassionally like to see live music, but only if it is in a very small venue.
I guess you can tell, music plays a big part in my life no matter where I am at. Did I already say that?

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

I am private ..... yet I can be one of the most open people you will ever meet. Figure that one out.....

and, I believe in miracles... and all things mystical. Well, maybe not all things, but most.
