I'm a sucker for comedies, especially absurdity: Daniel Tosh, Monty
Python, Kids in the Hall, David Lynch (yes, I do find David Lynch
funny - actually he is more awesome than funny), The Show (David
Cross!), Harold Ramis movies, Jack Black, Will Farrell, Dane Cook,
Chris Rock, Garry Shandling, people who make fun of people who get
too serious.
As much as I love reading, I now listen to more books, simply
because I love hearing stories and in just a few taps and swipes my
magic crystal (iphone) can deliver me an awesome story
teller.
Currently reading/listening to: The Name of The Wind (Rothfuss),
One Red Paperclip (MacDonald), A Moveable Feast (Hemingway), The
Gate Thief (Card), and Open Veins of Latin America (Galeano)
Finished recently and would be into chatting about: The Hot Kid and
Up in Honey's Room (Leonard), Swords Against Death and Swords of
Deviltry (Leiber), Candide and Zadig (Voltaire), Happy Thoughts
(Tosh), Stonefather and The Lost Gate (Card), Dominion (Friedman),
biographies (Keith Richards, Prince, Miles Davis, Theodore
Roosevelt)
Best new artist of 2012: Breakbot. I am totally digging dance music
right now that has a foundation in real instruments. Breakbot and
Viceroy are favorites as summer approaches!
I like other worlds but not sci-fi technology, more magic,
wierdness, creative problem solving within the constraints of the
new world, plus romantic interest and sexual tension.
I'm into fantasy, classics, modern, bios, existential, Greeks,
politics, sci-fi (Speaker for the Dead, Titan, ), comedians,
plays,
I love the details, the nuances, the references, the cameos, the
progression, the digression, the narrative tweaks and the
innuendos.
old tv shows (I don't watch tv anymore - unless i'm stuck in a
lobby without my phone or a book). Ok, I did watch Game of Thrones
(which is an interesting treatment and interpretation of the books
- waiting on book 6, hoping it's better than 5)
Jodorowsky, Foreman, Almodovar and Goddard are probably my favorite
relationship film directors. They set up situations and capture the
magic. Par contre, Spielberg, Mendez and Eastwood are really not my
type of directors.
French cuisine is among my favorites. Thai, sushi, Mexican are
others I like too, but hard to find Mexican in Montreal that is not
Texmex, which I don't like.
I love fruit and smoothies for breakfast.
