My Self-Summary
Staying fit is a big part of my life. I follow an all-natural vegan diet. I believe in Michael Pollan's simple advice: "Eat food, not too much, mostly plants." But yes, that was probably me you saw eating the huge plate of nachos at Steamworks the other night. Or the entire package of frosted Halloween cookies. Oh well, nobody's perfect.
I exercise everyday -- you'll know if I ever miss a day because I'll be really grumpy.
I'm a liberal thinker, open-minded, and non-religious. I respect people of faith, and also look forward to the day when 'atheist' is not considered a bad word.
I speak Russian, Slovenian, Portuguese, and Spanish -- but not out loud.
Favorite author: Philip Roth. Favorite Muppet: Kermit. Favorite yoga pose: tree pose.
Turn-ons: intelligence, athleticism, confidence. I'm a big believer in polarity -- if you're exactly like me, we'll be great friends. But for us to have real chemistry, there needs to be at least one thing about you that makes me say "I can't believe I'm dating someone who...." I'm quiet, shy, introverted, and risk-averse, so I need a woman with a bit of a wild side to keep me on my toes.
Turn-offs: superficiality, ignorance, infidelity. If you wrote "my favorite lip gloss" on the list of things you could never live without, we're done here. Of course, maybe that will be the thing that makes me say "I can't believe I'm dating this person..."
What I’m doing with my life
I work for Student Housing at Fort Lewis College. I love working with college students -- they keep me young and energized. For fun, I love an early morning trail run or a long bike ride. During the winter, you'll find me at the 5:45am spin class at the Rec Center or snowboarding up at Purg.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
Okay, maybe not. I think people usually notice that I'm quiet. I'm shy, especially in large groups or with people I don't know. So I probably won't amaze you the first time we meet. If I'm lucky, you'll walk away thinking I'm mysterious, or some crap like that.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Movies: The Muppet Movie, The Big Lebowski, Waiting, Office Space, Love Actually, Juno, Fight Club, Best in Show.
Food: Water, energy bars, bananas, oatmeal. Anything organic. Anything homemade. I'm a big fan of fatfreevegan.com for recipes. I make my own granola, bread, guacamole, pesto sauce, etc. Basically I like simple food, low on the food chain, and I try to enjoy foods in their natural state, or as close to it as possible. Don't worry, I won't judge you for being a blood-thirsty carnivore who pollutes their body with toxins, all for the sake of gluttonous pleasure. More likely, I'll probably sit there watching you eat, drooling and looking like the sad dog under the table who knows he's not getting any of what you're eating. Unless it's steak, Serious Texas, or anything with bacon or frosting (or both), in which case screw this diet, I'm eating it.
The six things I could never do without
2. The current issue of the New Yorker.
3. Sunshine.
4. Fresh air.
5. Love.
6. Healthy food.

Seriously, who is going to admit private things on OkCupid?
