Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
After all the years of searching, one thing seems certain. I really
have no idea what to write in a dating profile. The woman who would
be a good match would need to be open minded and light hearted,
those would be the two most important things. My own hobbies are
always in flux, so really just being interested in trying new
things, seeing new places would also be important qualities.
My favorite thing is probably being outdoors in the warmer months.
Whether hiking, kayaking, or just meandering about the local
festivals. I hate bugs though, so my apologies to entomologists,
but we probably cannot be friends. I'm the guy who on a hike is
always stopping to look at the plants and animals around. In the
cooler months I tend to stay indoors. I tend to read a lot, mostly
non-fiction, sometimes a night can get away from me if I find some
interesting subject to read about and link chase. Often I have some
obscure trivia or tidbit to share about an offhand subject leaving
people wondering where the heck that came from. If nothing else is
going on I'll binge watch some television shows or movies I have on
backlog. I love learning something new. Learning and experiencing
new things really are the spice of life. Creating new neural
pathways is what life is all about. I'll also often have an awful
joke ready to let loose for just the most inappropriate moment.
That's me in a nutshell.
Well if you find any of this interesting and live near Lansing,
send me a note. I'd love to hear from you.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Always learning, trying new things, looking for new interesting
people to chat with about new ideas, mostly just making it up as I
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I've been told I'm a good listener. I'm an information sponge, and
just love learning something new. One of my hobbies is gardening,
I'm really good with plants and animals, it just comes naturally.
I'm learning to cook, so hopefully I can brag on that soon!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That's a tough one, I'm not really sure. Perhaps my height?

Really I like a show with strong, quirky characters. Some of my all
time favorite movies include Aliens, Ghostbusters, The Shawshank
Redemption, Slap Shot, and Monty Python's Holy Grail. I sometimes
like to tell people my favorite movie all time is a foreign film
(The Good, the bad and the ugly).
Music: I listen to everything basically. My favorite genre is
blues, but since that's not on the radio much, mostly classic rock,
hard rock or sometimes country. They say music is a lot like candy
bars, getting through the rappers is the toughest part.
TV: The Mentalist, Elementary, South Park, Community, Archer,
Breaking Bad was also an amazing show. My all time favorite show is
probably Frasier. Everyone talks about how high brow it was, but it
could often be quite goofy and slapstick at times.
Books, Ender's Game, The Hitchhiker's Guide series, The Lord of the
Rings, and various, diverse blogs.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The internet - What an age we live in to have such a wealth of
knowledge at our fingertips!
Something new to see or do
Things to tinker with
Air-Water-Food-but I suppose those are givens?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Who put the ram in the rama-lama ding-dong?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm not sure there is such a thing as a "typical" Friday night. I
plead the 5th on the grounds that it may incriminate me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I know what a tetraquark is, but not how it's put together, but
then no one does yet.
