My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
The thing I am most proud of in my life is being a life-long learner. Although my formal education ended with a bachelor of science degree, I could never decide on what subject to pursue a higher degree in, I have continued investigating other random subjects I have found interesting over the years. This has made me fairly good at trivia if nothing else. Things that everyone says, I'm nice, easy going and an intelligent man. In the warmer months I try to keep busy, hiking with the dogs, kayaking, that sort of thing. At this point in life I always thought I would have settled down with someone nice, it seems most of my friends have married and are working on multiple kids now. For whatever reason luck in love has just never really happened for me, so I thought maybe a site like this would increase my odds of meeting someone nice. I'm generally up for trying anything at least once. Well almost anything, I'm not an adrenaline junky, so no sky diving or things like that. Other things I don't really like are a bunch of pomp and silly protocols. Avoiding those sort of things are almost a second hobby to me lately it seems. I like keeping things casual and fun as much as possible.

My ideal match would of course need to be open-minded, interested in new things as well. Spontaneity is a big plus, but mostly I like someone with a kind heart who is not pretentious or too uptight and hung up on protocol and that nonsense. I have eclectic interests and try to keep my mind busy, so my match would hopefully be up for trying new things, like restaurants, or hiking out someplace we've never been before, or taking an interesting class and even more ideally have new things to share that could open my mind to ideas I've never thought of before. Someone who was up for some witty banter, like in old Cary Grant movies, would be a plus as well.

If you're up for finding new adventures drop me a line and let's chat.

Other things you may want to know:
They say the world was created in 7 days, but it took 9 months to create me. So obviously I'm a pretty big deal.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Always learning, trying new things, looking for new interesting people to chat with about new ideas, mostly just making it up as I go along.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I've been told I'm a good listener. I'm an information sponge, and just love learning something new. One of my hobbies is gardening, I'm really good with plants and animals, it just comes naturally. I'm learning to cook, so hopefully I can brag on that soon!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That's a tough one, I'm not really sure. Perhaps my height?

Really I like a show with strong, quirky characters. Some of my all time favorite movies include Aliens, Ghostbusters, The Shawshank Redemption, Slap Shot, and Monty Python's Holy Grail. I sometimes like to tell people my favorite movie all time is a foreign film (The Good, the bad and the ugly).

Music: I listen to everything basically. My favorite genre is blues, but since that's not on the radio much, mostly classic rock, hard rock or sometimes country. They say music is a lot like candy bars, getting through the rappers is the toughest part.

TV: The Mentalist, Elementary, South Park, Community, Archer, Breaking Bad was also an amazing show. My all time favorite show is probably Frasier. Everyone talks about how high brow it was, but it could often be quite goofy and slapstick at times.

Books, Ender's Game, The Hitchhiker's Guide series, The Lord of the Rings, and various, diverse blogs.

I'm not sure there is such a thing as a "typical" Friday night. I plead the 5th on the grounds that it may incriminate me.
