It’s not an easy thing to describe one’s self.
I could tell you that I am a smart, kind, reserved bookworm.
I am not as socially refined as most people. I make some faux pas, but I mean well.
Does that really tell you who I am?
I could tell you what I believe--Jesus is my Lord and savior for me that means he has taught me what it means to be fully human and is the best revelation of what God truly is like; or that
I could describe my physical features (you see that picture at the top of the page that’s me!).
I could tell you what my friends think of me.
I could tell you that I am writing this essay in the library (my favorite place in the entire universe). I could tell you that I going to the University of Dubuque pursuing my MDiv.
All of those things and more make up the work-in-progress that is Robby! You can ask me anything you want and I will give you my honest answer.
Now you might be put off by me calling Jesus Lord and Savior but don't let it. I am not by any stretch of the imagination a traditional or conservative Christian.
I am just someone who's trying to live out the things that Jesus teaches in the Gospels--Love God Love and serve man. I am very open minded and accepting. I want equal rights for all no matter race, sexual identity or whatever. We are all human and should be treated with the dignity we deserve. Everyone is an image of God. As Abraham Herschel said, “Just to live is holy.” I am a Christian, but I’m open, honest, and authentic.
My main passion is and always will be books. You will rarely see me without a book in my hand, and frankly, I feel naked without one. Nudity aside, I enjoy many different topics and authors, but I’m enthralled by religion and philosophy.
When I’m not reading or at the library, I’m out with friends, enjoying a movie, sipping iced tea, or walking. Due to some life changes in the last few years, I’ve been more focused on my health. I’m actually enjoying taking better care of myself.
So yes, I have a very fulfilling and contented life. But of course, I’m here for a reason—to find the right woman for me. You must be kind, well read, and intelligent, have Christian beliefs and not be LDS. My family is LDS, but I’m not, as I know that church is not for me. Physical appearance is not a big factor, though I would prefer to be with a woman who isn’t taller than I am. Oh, yes- and another factor-you have to be interested in me!
I’m truly hoping to find that special woman for the long haul, but I’m willing to take my time and would like to just be good friends first.
If this piques your interest, please get my attention. It wouldn’t too hard to do that!
