This is a difficult thing. Do we ever really see ourselves as others do? (and can we actually fit a whole person in these little boxes?)

I bought an old house a few years ago and now I spend my free time getting it to match the picture in my head. I have insulated the basement and attic, painted the kitchen, rewired, fixed leaky pipes. . . and I put the finishing touches on the new roof this fall! (much better) The joys of an old house!
I am looking forward to insulating the "sleeping" porch as part of its' eventual transformation to my bedroom (it'll need to have heat first. . .). I can picture a wood burner and a comfy chair in one corner - a cup of tea and a good book (nirvana). I may drag the bed out there for the summer - but I need screens on the windows first. . .
I just completed a major project to help keep the basement dry. This involved a jackhammer, sump pits, two large pumps, some plumbing and wiring. I was happily vindicated this morning when not a drop made it past my French drain. . .
From Tara: This house has more personality than any I have ever seen-very rich in culture and history! Much like the owner!
Two years ago, a little critter followed me home and I decided to keep it. By "little critter" I mean "1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V", and by "followed me home", I, of course, meant "was towed to my yard after I purchased it". It seems to take up quite a bit of my time when the weather permits - but it is a fun project. It's nearly to the point where driving it is no longer a danger to myself and others. . . (i.e. it has brakes part of the time and it nearly stays running when you manage to come to a complete stop). Much fun. Want a ride?
