My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"perfection is static, and i am in full progress…"

i've been described a cynic, a skeptic, a martyr, not "girlfriend material" (fuck you), a cold-hearted misanthrope, an extremist, volatile, erratic, random, sweet, passionate, morbid, dark, intense, & tender - at least one of those is true.

i love to write poetry, listen to heavy metal (predominantly). on my free time i like to go to shows, read on my commute, and like kicking ass in mixed martial arts (still a novice)...yada, yada, yada.

[bottom line]
i am a wayward child & am full of contradictions.

i will call you out on bullshit. i will look you in the eyes when you speak & especially when you're quiet.

»»»»NOTE: not a big fan of labels, but i prefer queer over bisexual. also, i'm in a relationship with an awesome guy. if you're a badass chick that's down with that, feel free to hit me up.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
this question/section sucks.

i have a soul-sucking corporate job with many perks, like free beer during work hours @ my desk, but money does not equate happiness or wealth! (at least not what i consider to be wealth.) therefore:

i'm compiling a list of places i will travel. top of my list:

- ireland
- sweden
- norway

i'd kill to be under norway's breathtaking skies & to behold the green vivacity of ireland!

i chase the new, the different, obscure, the strange - adventure!

"gambling's for fools, but that's the way i like it, baby. i don't want to live forever!"
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- talking about heavy metal!
- listening
- procrastinating
- getting kicked out of bars & venues (not so much now)
- collecting sweet-ass knives (i am zombie apocalypse ready)
- cathartic poetry
- boxing, jiu-jitsu & beating shit up
- being a night owl
- rambling
- misanthropy
- compulsive shopping (especially at bookstores & record stores)
- determination (when i feel like it)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
probably that i wear a lot of black. also, my love for spikes & combat boots is often visible.

[music]
my heart will forever belong to good old heavy metal. this is the part where i can almost guarantee you we will have little in common, but that's ok!

genres/sub-genres i enjoy: thrash, black metal, death metal, blackened thrash, speed metal, industrial, post-punk, doom, sludge, psychedelic stoner shit, classical, electronica, dark wave, ambient, blues, some punk rock. if i like it, that's all i really care about.

- witchbanger
- exmortus

[authors]
joyce carol oates, sylvia plath, ernest hemmingway, flannery o'connor, d.h. lawrence, virginia woolf, charles bukowski, augusten burroughs, stephen king, anais nin, franz kafka, sarah waters, jeanette winterson, staceyann chin, hunter s. thompson, henry miller, dr. seuss, edgar allan poe, gabriel garcia marquez, isabel allende, pablo neruda, jorge luis borges, audre lorde. -- don't be fooled, i'm not as well-read as i would like to be. there are way too many books (especially classics) i haven't laid eyes on.

[food]
anything vegetarian! although after 10 years of hardcore vegetarianism, this has been wavering lately. fyi: you could poison me with chocolate.

[movies]
i am a fan of "independent" films and would prefer to attend a film festival a million times over going to see your typical cookie-cutter blockbuster. i strongly believe we need more women filmmakers, producers, designers, and game developers!

i really enjoy documentary films, psycho thrillers, film noir - still catching up on that one though!, silent movies and horror films. that said, i still like going to the movies. i like watching horror films with people who let themselves get scared. why bother going otherwise?

to name a few:
eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, edward scissorhands, evil dead, the craft, hocus pocus, the nightmare before christmas, lost & delirious, but i'm a cheerleader, saw (pretty much all of them), the cabinet of dr. caligari, 50 first dates, amelie, kill bill, pulp fiction (tarantino films, basically), donnie darko, girl, interrupted, american psycho, the dark knight, the fountain, take this waltz, blue valentine, memento, scott pilgrim vs. the world, etc.

[tv]
i am not home long enough to sit & watch television these days, but thanks to netflix, i am now addicted to the l word. i also sometimes watch: the walking dead, how i met your mother, adventure time, the big bang theory, american horror story, & ufc.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
things: heavy metal, mental stimulation, physical stimulation, release.
& my pets - fuck humans.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- what show i'm going to go to next
- feminism
- consent: sex. sex. sex.
- rape culture
- destruction
- gender
- social constructs
- life/death
- the future
- time
- how i need to write more
- breathing
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
most often than not, drinking at a show, bordering a mosh pit, diving into a mosh pit, reading. sometimes i'm drinking & writing."write drunk; edit sober." also, i ABSOLUTELY LOVE spontaneity. i suck at plans, just live!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
i have a hard time seeing things to completion. this is probably why i've written dozens more not-quite-finished poems than chapters

you want to get close as sweaty velcro, like latex, fur & feathers--stuck together.
(bonus points if you genuinely know where this is from.)

you like little boobs :)

you are goal-orientated, adventurous, and live with intensity! you can zig-zag between awesome childishness and that horrid thing they call adulthood.

also, please know how to spell & proofread yo shit before you send it out. it doesn't have to be perfect, just show that you care a little.

you don't suck at life.

you put yourself first -- in love or outta love. give a damn about yourself.

you don't mind a little darkness. . .

if all else fails, "i don't hate people. i just feel better when they aren't around."
