I like fun and funny fun and hope to share with you and I care a lot about many things. I collect 8 tracks, run a small poetry press, and write (mostly poetry.) I am currently a high school teacher and I love to teach. I'm an outgoing guy and decisive, but I'm a good listener and I'd really like someone who likes to be in love and who likes to have adventures. I am super into the Jung Personality Test (worth checking out!) and I will probably talk to you about it at some point. I'm an ENFP and I really, really believe in it.
FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN ALERT!

I'm trying to teach poetry full time at college, publish books, have sick readings, and be a happy person who makes other people happy. And takes good care of a guinea pig. Maybe more guinea pigs in the future. I lived in Chicago and New York but I liked Iowa City the most when it's at its best. I think meeting someone super special would make living here greater, but I am one of those suckers in the teaching job shuffle and poetry po'biz.

Driving. Claw machines. And other things, too! WOW! DIVERSITY!

BOOKS: I am super into poetry, so here are some poetry peeps I love most of all: Anne Sexton, Gertrude Stein, Robert Duncan, Nick Demske, Joyelle McSweeny, Johannes Goransson, Megan Boyle, Lisa Jarnot, Steve Roggenbuck, Oni Buchanon (she signed her latest book, Must a Violence, to me AND my guinea pig), Ariana Reines, CAConrad, Scottish poets from the 40s, and about 1 skrillion more. Also, I love the Dune series, indie comic books (Julie Ducet, Dan Clowes, R. Crumb, Jim Woodring, etc), Virginia Woolf, Albert Camus, Vladimir Nabokov, Muriel Spark, William Burroughs, Shakespeare, and weird books I find at thrift stores and Sharpless Auctions (just outside Iowa City)

MUSIC: Animal Collective (and every solo thing by Panda Bear and Avey Tare), Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Beach House, Galaxie 500, The Fall, Guided by Voices, Youth Lagoon, Desire, Death Grips, Dirty Beaches, Lightning Bolt, Magnetic Fields, The Misfits, Cocteu Twins, Destroyer, James Blake, Kraftwerk, Beach Boys, The Carter Family, The Evens, The Feelies, Cleaners From Venus, Hasil Adkins, tons of surf rock, ambient electronic, experimental, and this Chinese instrument called the Guqin. That thing is my spirit animal.

MOVIES: Lost in Translation, Eternal Sunshine, Adaptation, insane documentaries (Burden of Dreams, Exit Through the Gift Shop, Please Vote for Me, King of Kong, etc), Hannah Takes the Stairs, Mothra, What the BLEEP Do We Know?, shitty romantic comedies (I don't know what it is...the shittiness? The human carnage? I like them.)

TV SHOWS: Listen, I love trashy reality TV. Pretty much anything on BRAVO, esp. Vanderpump Rules, Real Housewives of New York/ATL/Beverly Hills, Married to Medicine, Check it Out w/ Dr. Steve Brule, Parks & Rec, The Office (seasons 1-4, I haven't really seen many later ones...), Arrested Development, Shark Tank, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Girls, The Future is Wild (own the DVD set of this gem. Future animals. Swoon.), Chopped, Here Comes Honey Motherfuckin' BOO BOO CHILD! is my favorite of all time, most shows about eating disgusting foods/disgusting amounts of foods, Doomsday Preppers, UFC (MMA fighting, really the only sport I care about).

FOOD: I love all the food. NØ MEAT, PLEASE.

Things could mean an awful lot. So I'll start by saying PASSION. JOY. SHARING. LISTENING. LAUGHING. LEARNING. Those are true and nice to write. Now you know I'm a good dude. But physical possessions-wise, I'd say BOOKS. NOTEPAD. 8-TRACK PLAYER. LUCY LAZER, MY GUINEA PIG. SHITTY, SHITTY, SHITTY REALITY TV SHOWS ON BRAVO OR TLC. Um...INTERNAL ORGANS.

Outer space. Humanity. Art and literature. Destiny. Free will. Poetry. Activism. TV. Mind control. Doomsday. Storytelling. The unknown. Energy and our brains and bodies. Animals. The ocean. Frontiers. Piles of garbage. The adorable apocalypse. Sweetness. Virtue. Lovey love.

Hopefully doing some sort of art or poetry related activity and then having beers and etc. with friends at their places or mine. I really like chilling and watching TV or reading. Maybe we are hanging out.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is my favorite TV show ever. I'm a die-hard UFC fan. My poetry book just came out. I used to say I'd drink any vodka that cracked me up when I saw the flavor. But I can't do that no more cause there are just. Too. Many. Insane. Vodkas. Glazed donut vodka? Buttered popcorn vodka? I thought these were just lubricants for the wheels of Satan's chariot of doom he takes out for relaxing Sunday burn cycles but they are actually things human beings consume WILLINGLY. I love America, sometimes against my better judgment. Sometimes from my porch. Sometimes when I am driving. I really like driving a lot.
