My self-summary
Hi, I'm Alex. I am a computer science graduate from the University of Kentucky. I really enjoy learning and discovering new things and spend a lot of time doing computer programming and computer related things. I also like to be challenged intellectually.

I recently finished college with a 4.0 gpa. To an employer, this means next to nothing, but it's a personal achievement that I am really proud of.

I am a computer programmer at Lexmark, which is a printer company based out of Lexington (hence the name). That sounds really boring I'm sure, but I am having quite a lot of fun with it. When I am not at work I am usually playing games or surfing the web. Recently I have spent a lot of time catching up on shows I should have been watching for a while.
What I’m doing with my life
still adjusting to a professional work environment. Fortunately, when that environment is full of programmers, it's pretty relaxed.
I’m really good at
Math, Science, and technical stuff. I used to think I was pretty good at programming, but a few months working with people who have been doing this for years (if not decades) has taught me that I still have a LOT to learn. Also video games, I am very very good at video games.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically: I can do this crazy thing with my ear where I fold it into itself. I also imagine my hair color kind of sticks out. A friend of mine says I remind her of an Owl, which is kind of odd, but I will go with it.

Mentally: I am a grotesquely sarcastic person.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (misleading name, its a scifi novel though), The Name of the Wind, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, fantasy and science fiction.

Movies: No true favorites, but some that I have watched recently that I have really enjoyed include: Wreck-it Ralph, How to Train your Dragon, 21 Jump Street, Taken, Men in Black 3.

Shows: Game of Thrones, Burn Notice, Doctor Who, Futurama, Avatar the Last Airbender (and Legend of Korra), Deathnote.

Music: Dream Theater, Rush, Within Temptation, Joe Satriani. I lean toward instumental rock more often than not. So much video game music you wouldn't believe. This is probably one of my favorite songs ever:

Food: stir-fry, spaghetti, pizza, chili, steak, salmon, not necessarily in that order.
The six things I could never do without
High-level programming languages.
The PC I built.
This thing: (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
I'm seriously grasping at straws at this point.
quaternions (look them up, they will blow your mind)

I'm leaving out clichés and cop-outs such as family, food, air, etc.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Daydreaming. Imagining impossible situations of glory and grandeur.

The infinite expanse of space.

How the hell I can make that one section of code from my most resent programming project a little bit faster or cleaner. (hopefully both)
On a typical Friday night I am
At my apartment playing video games, talking to friends, or watching movies. Most of the time some combination of these 3 things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I actively maintain a journal and I wish I had started it much earlier than I did (about 2 years ago.) I has really helped me organize my thoughts and will be amusing to look back at in 5 or 10 or even 20 years.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–26
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
Any of the following apply to you:

Anything from above has interested you.

You want to talk to somebody.

You want to play some games with someone. I have DotA2, Minecraft, Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 dead 1-2 as multiplayer options.

You are really really bored.

You can intellectually stimulate me.

Don't expect a reply if you send "hey" or anything along those lines. Ask me questions, describe yourself, write me a short story, link me to a picture of a llama and an emu fighting over a piece of cake on mars (seriously, please do this. If it's good, I frame it and hang it on my wall or something), I don't care, just give me something to work with.
