My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an easy going kind of guy and a fan of terrible puns (to the dismay of those around me). I worked in a science museum for 5 years as an educator and consider myself a lifelong science nerd, so be careful what you get me talking about. I could ramble about paleontology until I'm blue in the face.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an engineer, and I test satellite batteries for a living. Knowing I'm responsible for putting something in orbit is what gets me out of bed most mornings. I've been fascinated by astronomy for as long as I can remember. My company built the batteries that powered some of the Mars rovers, so I can't wait to be involved in something else just as awesome!

When I'm not geeking out over new Doctor Who episodes or Marvel trailers, I like to spend my free time hiking, camping, exploring, cooking, going to concerts, listening to music, or reading. When it's too cold for any of that, you'll probably find me wrapped up in an RPG of some kind.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Fixing things, tinkering, and cooking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyebrows, according to a friend of mine.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I used to buy more music in a year than is probably sane or reasonable, but lately I've curbed that with Spotify. A few favorites (in no particular order): Rainbow, Judas Priest, Johnny Cash, Queen, Daft Punk, Halestorm, Flogging Molly, B. B. King, Gorillaz, Darby O'Gill, The Kelly Bell Band, Doc Watson, The Notorious B.I.G., Cab Calloway, David Bowie, Louis Armstrong, Royksopp, and Tenacious D.

I absolutely love going to rock shows, and try to make it to at least one a year. I got to see Alice Cooper recently and I can't wait to go back and see him again.

I've been a bit busy for reading lately, but I'm hoping to find the time again soon. I've yet to meet a Michael Crichton novel I didn't devour, and practically grew up on Stephen King and the Harry Potter books. I've been working my way through A Song of Ice and Fire, but have been poking in a few other novels in between each.

I could list TV shows for ages, but to keep it short: Doctor Who, Firefly, Arrested Development, Sherlock, and Battlestar Galactica sum up my tastes well.

For movies - If it's funny or a western, I'll love it. Some of my all time favorites though are Duck Soup, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and anything by Sergio Leone.

I'm also a big fan of podcasts, including The Bugle, Stuff You Missed In History Class, Dan Carlin's Hardcore History, and The Thrilling Adventure Hour.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-My iPod
-A kitchen (I've been known to bake late at night if I can't sleep)
-Hiking boots
-A constant influx of useless trivia
-My favorite travel hammock
-Friends to go out and do unappologetically nerdy things with
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The meaning of life. Particularly, what it would take to get Eric Idle to pop out of my fridge and start singing The Galaxy Song.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Plotting world domination.

...Or having a game night with a bunch of my friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
There's a five word phrase that will ruin any date for me, no matter how well it's going: "I don't like Monty Python."
