I grew up in NJ, went to college in RI and have lived in NYC for 9 years. I am overly caffeinated, a nightowl who is somehow super perky in the morning and I am the shyest outgoing person you will ever meet. I am very chatty but hate small talk. I would rather just be quiet. I avoid crowds. I think lemon is a staple condiment. I have a phobia of card games but love scrabble or a rousing game of balderdash. I call more than one person my best friend and mean it. I tell a good story. I evidently ramble. I love to walk. I will walk around the city for hours on end...I love it. Walk 70 blocks in february? Done and done.

I am a men's personal stylist for a high end fashion and lifestyle brand. I love my job. I am always planning trips in my head (I really want to go back to South America, also on my dream list: Portugal, Cuba, and Indonesia) although my travel these days has been rather un-exotic (Bermuda,Colorado,Florida). I actively chose to go to RI during Nemo and get snowed in for 3 days ( I have bizarre habit of traveling during extreme weather) I enjoy the gym, spinning, and yoga. I am trying to become a runner and learning to crochet. I love to hike. I am also baking up a storm these days...most recently a scrumptious bourbon caramel croissant pudding, slutty brownies and car bomb cupcakes.
oh and I recently ate gator tail......just thought I'd throw that in there.

I make a killer box of mac and cheese, I can mix a good drink, I give a solid hug, I have a ridiculous memory for people, dates and completely useless pop culture information.

I work in a men's shop, probably the first thing noticed about me these days is that I'm the girl.

Alice in Wonderland, Grace: A memoir ,The Heavy, Is Everyone hanging out without me?, Devil in the White City, Bossypants, the Help, Committed, Unbearable Lightness, An Unquiet Mind, Poser and Water for Elephants (that's sort of scraping the recent surface....I read a lot). I read way too many magazines and for work I am now reading men's fashion magazines and reading men's style guides primarily, but attempt to mix in a lot of actual news. I'm obsessed with my NPR updates. I read really fast.
I love the Royal Tenenbaums, An Education, the Young Victoria, Valley of the Dolls, Cocktail, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Far and Away, Love Story etc..... I love Alfonso Cuaron and Wes Anderson and Tim Burton ( and so, so many more but can never name them until they come up). I saw just Silver Linings Playbook and Oz the Great and Powerful ( bonus points if you have ever seen Return from Oz).As for tv i have the taste of a 16 year old and 40 year old rolled into one. I love Mad Men,Girls, revenge, once upon a time,project runway, the New Girl, Happy Endings, Modern Family, Glee....its a long list. I judge reality tv on a show to show basis, certain shows make me make twitch.Music:Arcade Fire, Adele,Sara Bareilles,M.Ward, the Like, Aimee Mann, the National, Cold War Kids,Kid Cudi,Gwen Stefani, No Doubt, Hole, Nirvana, Counting Crows, Jenny Lewis, She & Him etc... how do I make an actual list for this??pick a genre and I will try it.....at least once. Huge fan of Mexican, wings, cheese, pho, watermelon, marshmallows....put it in front of me and I will probably eat it (just not cucumbers, honey dew or cantaloupe). I eat obscene amounts of blood orange sorbet.

Other than family and friends, which for me is a given, in no particular order: magazines, my feet, the ocean, caffeine, iPhone,soft,natural fabrics.

possibly working or being low key if I have work appointments or floor hours on saturday,out with friends, in with friends, taking in a movie, away for the weekend....a mini adventure, if you will.

I have lived in NYC for 9 years and I still get overwhelmed by the subway. I mean, I take the subway, obviously, but I should not lead the conversation regarding which exact one to take or switch to, what car will put you on what part of the platform etc.
