Creativity and an inquisitive nature have always been big parts of me...have always loved language and writing, playing and listening to music and making stuff...well attuned to my inner self, the world and those around me...grounded by a strong empirical side (science and math)...I understand strength and vulnerability are not mutually exclusive...my view of the world is not myopic.

I work as an editor in tv/video/film and truly love my work...even on bad/tough days I'm thankful to be doing something I've chosen. I like a lot of the same stuff most people do when it comes to going out or staying in so instead of a list, I think those kinds of activities grow out of what two people enjoy doing together. I'm usually open to suggestion or have a few of my own. I tend to be a night person given the option, but I can be up early if there's a reason.

Some of the basics: Grew up just north of NYC (always knew I wanted to live here), BA English, MA Education, one younger brother.

Growing, working at something that makes me happy, loving/enjoying the people in my life, finding fascination in the world around me, enjoying the high, low and in-between moments of every day and having fun in NYC.

Creating something new, empathy, being a friend, seeing myself and others, being able to locate my instinct and intuition (a gift given to me at a young age) and thinking for myself...when I was a kid, my friends used to say I must have invented the word "suppose."

Not really sure, I've never noticed.

I've always thought favorites were more fun as part of a discussion (the English major in me), so having said that here goes: Books - The Education of Little Tree (Carter), Childhood and Society (Erikson), Manufacturing Consent (Chomsky), You Just Don't Understand (Tannen)...plus The Triggering Town (Hugo), a special book given to me on writing poetry by my freshman English professor at college. Movies/Shows - It's my work so in some sense, everything. My interests go back 100 years and span many countries. My profile name comes from Alfred Hitchcock. Music: My roots start with the Beatles and Motown, babysitters played me Hendrix, Airplane etc., I experienced 70's rock more in high school, college and after brought bluegrass, jazz, r&b, folk...I've worked with and played music of one kind or another since grade school. Food - Yes please, more variety than not, red wine and afterwards, chocolate.

Apparently how to answer such an ambitious question. Seriously, the same myriad of things we all juggle every day...plus how grateful I am for each day, the good and the bad. From an interest in science, I can explain where everything comes from, at least as far as the empirical world is concerned.

therefore I think. If it's been a long week, a lazy night at home. However, I do like the energy of a Friday night in NYC whether it's dinner, entertainment or whatever.

I'm a fairly private person so nothing too exciting here, plus it's better to build connections with that kind of information on a more personal level.

You're looking for a monogamous (hopefully long-term) relationship, and you feel it's important to have a combination of chemistry/attraction and a friend/partner...you know, just emotional, intellectual and physical chemistry. Oh, and you'd love to leave this site.
