My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a bit of a music nut. I started teaching myself piano back in high school and haven't stopped since. The quality of music that makes it way through Austin is ridiculous.

There's definitely a nerdy side to me. Since I was a little kid, I've been fascinated with how stuff works. The diagnosis of engineer came at a very young age. I read quite a bit about history and science cause that shit's just cool.

I'm also a big sports fan. Aggie football will always get me worked up. Catching some Rockets basketball is also fun. (With my beard I've established a psychic connection with James Harden). Staying active is important to me. I'll usually work out 3-4 times a week. Weights, frisbee, sweaty yoga at Black Swan, jogging, kayaking are my usuals.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Moved to Austin a couple years ago after graduating from A&M. Working as a mechanical engineer for a tech company designing industrial computing equipment. As to what I'm doing with my life, well that's a pretty existential question.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Quoting old Simpsons episodes, random facts and trivia, NBA Jam, Saying witty things, Mistakenly thinking I said something witty
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My very sarcastic sense of humor. (Usually toned down around people I don't know well). It tends to veer in odd directions.

If I'm being serious, there's a good chance I'm over explaining some cool (in my mind) history, science, or politics fact/theory. That's just the engineer in me taking over and there's no helping it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies: I tend towards comedies (Big Lebowski, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Naked Gun, Hot Fuzz). For serious stuff I go for films on the dark side or with generous amounts of mindfuckery (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fargo, Dark City). And of course, The Princess Bride (since I can quote just about the entire movie)

Books: My kindle and I have a deep and abiding relationship. Please don't try and come between us. Recently, I've been on an evolutionary biology kick. I read quite a bit of classic literature. Some of my favorites are The Magic Mountain, The Master and Margarita, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Catch 22, Fathers and Sons (I'll stop here before this list gets absurdly long) Guilty pleasure: cheesy fantasy books. I was pumped when the Wheel of Time series finally wrapped up last year.

Music: My tastes run pretty diverse. Some of my favs in rock (Spoon, The National), hip hop (Outkast, Run the Jewels), pop (Charli XCX, Chvrches), classical (Mahler, Prokofiev), electronic (Tim Hecker, Burial), jazz (Mingus, Monk), New Zealand based folk parody duos (Flight of the Concords). Right now The albums from Freddie Gibbs/Madlib and The War on Drugs are dominating my ears.

Food: everything... I usually hone in on the menu item with the craziest sounding ingredients. If I skip over a dish I haven't had before, I could be missing my new favorite food. Can't take that risk.

TV: Breaking Bad, 30 Rock, Mad Men, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, Archer (aka same list as 90% of OKC)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-My Piano (I mostly play classical. Trying to get better at pop and rock)
-Jackie Chan movies (especially the Hong Kong ones with bad overdubs)
-Aggie football (all that maroon koolaid I drank back in school had its effect)
-Scotch (neat and peaty as hell)
-BBQ (don't know what I'd do if I left Texas)
-Live music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Building a en sous vide cooking rig. And whether I go completely overboard with it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The same thing I do every night... Try to take over the world!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
