I am fantastic, mindful, and quixotic.

My Self-Summary

I am the never-present. I'm always stuck somewhere between the past and future. Most of the time I'm a little bit crazy, though more and more I'm starting to think that goes hand in hand with being intelligent. I'm just trying to find my niche in this place and make a change for the better. I'm at a place in my life now where I'm not looking for someone I need or someone who needs me. I've been through that too many times and know that it doesn't make for a good relationship. I'm looking for someone who is complete on their own but wants to be with me anyway.

I'm an animal lover, a pescetarian, and an activist, but don't let that scare you. I'm passionate about what I believe to be right and wrong but I wont bite your head off just because you have a different opinion.

Ideally, I would like to save the world someday.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently at the tail end of my second year of pre-requisites for nursing school. My long-term plan is to either become a neonatal or pediatric nurse practitioner or a midwife. That being said, plans can and do change. In my spare time I can usually be found volunteering for a local animal rescue group. I'm very passionate about helping those (human and otherwise) who cannot help themselves.

I recently moved to Grand Prairie and will start nursing school in the spring. This year has been a gigantic clusterfuck to me and everyone I know, but life goes on.

I’m really good at

Sarcasm. It's a defense mechanism that sometimes works too well.

Finishing people's sentences/finding that one word you were looking for.

Finding things that other people have lost (even though I can never keep track of my own belongings).

Writing inane bulls**t like this.

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes, and how quiet I am. I've also been told that I tend to look annoyed but really, that's just my face. Also, I'm bringing pasty back!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Most of my reading nowadays is done from textbooks, but I do enjoy reading for pleasure when I get the chance. My favorite books to read are non-fiction, and I am particularly fond of Holocaust memoirs.

Movies: 28 Days Later, Gangs of New York, Silence of the Lambs, The Exorcist, Hannibal, The Green Mile, Dawn of the Dead, Funny Games, The Fifth Element, William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet, The Dreamers, Girl, Interrupted, Pulp Fiction, Moulin Rouge, Sweeney Todd, Babel, A Scanner Darkly, Jesus Camp, The Business of Being Born, Eastern Promises

Music: I enjoy a wide range of music and listen to everything from Classical to Heavy Metal. Some of my favorite bands include: Placebo, Nine Inch Nails, The Pixies, Radiohead, Burning Airlines, MIA, Fiona Apple, David Bowie, Rasputina, ohGr, The Cure, and The Dresden Dolls.

TV: House, Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, Family Guy, Dexter, Six Feet Under, Weeds, Californication

Food: Most of the time I like to make my own food. I enjoy trying new recipes and am especially fond of baking. Occasionally I like to go out for good Chinese/Japanese/Thai food and/or Sushi.

The six things I could never do without

1. Sleep. I love to sleep (despite having wicked-bad insomnia.)
2. Music. It helps me cope with day-to-day life.
3. Good friends. They make the bad times more bearable.
4. Peanut butter.
5. The ability to affect change in myself and in the world.
6. My pets.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The past and future.
Life.
Science.
The human body and all of its oddities.
Space and time.
Cultures outside my own.
People, how we relate and connect with one another, even though every one of us knows the eventual outcome.

On a typical Friday night I am

Baking, watching movies, going out with friends, or just sitting around and talking.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

When I was a kid I honestly believed I was from another planet.

You should message me if

If we have similar tastes in music, movies, books etc.

If you like the way I think.

If you think I would be an interesting person to talk to.

If you like, like me.

Or even if you just need someone to talk to.
