Well, I'm originally from Houston, Texas. I joined the Navy at 18, was stationed in Goose Creek, SC, Newport News and then Virginia Beach, VA. Got out after 4.5 and moved to NC late 2011.
So, having told people I have lived in both South Carolina and Virginia, I do happen to hear the tree joke rather often.
I like to dance and sing, but don't do either in public anymore until I'm at least 3-4 drinks in.
It doesn't take much to get a smile out of me. I love to have a good laugh and I can be a bit spontaneously crazy. I am not afraid to let loose and just enjoy the moment...even at the risk of a little embarrassment. Life is short to not enjoy as much of it as possible.
I play computer games, currently Diablo 3, a very little bit of WoW (friends made me!), Killing Floor, Skyrim, Team Fortress 2, Dead Island, Red Orchestra 2, Saints Row 3.

I want to see more of the world, and would love to meet someone who is willing to explore with me.

I like a guy to be outgoing and attentive, intelligent and funny, I have a thing for musical talent, particularly guitar, piano and singing; also love gamers, explorers and interesting accents, real or faked. I want a guy to have aspirations, dreams and fantasies with the desire and willpower to attempt to achieve them.

I'm in an electrician apprenticeship with the union, because I like electrical work, the pay is good and I dont have to fill out new job applications each time the contract runs out. However waiting on a new contract can be a true test of financial responsibility.

Reading. I know it's silly, everyone can read, but I read about twice as fast anyone I've ever met.
Computer games, maybe not the best, but just about any game I pick up I'll be pretty good at.
Making an awkward situation a little more so, also decent at making it better, but it's a 50/50 sometimes.
Looking at words like 'awkward', knowing I spelled them right and still thinking its wrong.

I laugh easily. I wear glasses.

Books: Terry Goodkind, Melanie Rawn, Piers Anthony, Robert Jordan, Mercedes Lackey, Dennis L. McKiernan, Jennifer Roberson... seeing a pattern here, lets just say 'High fantasy & fiction' and call it good there.

Movies: Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Ever After, Boondock Saints, Blade Runner.

Shows: Psych, Burn Notice, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Bastard!, House, 30 Rock.

Music: I like most music as long as it has a good melody and decent lyrics preferably that can actually be understood.
Current Favorites include but change at a whim: Alexi Murdoch, Adele, Gotye, Ben Howard, Lady Antebellum, Elliott Smith, Jon Anderson, VNV Nation, Kings of Leon, Kate Rusby.

Food: I will always enjoy a good steak, bacon wrapped filets being top. Chicken just about any way you can cook it. Cheese... I love cheese.

TVs with static creep me out, the Ring.... if only it had ended 10 minutes earlier, I would be fine.

I am actually rather shy, but I fake outgoing so well sometimes even I believe it.

To be honest I'm more looking for some friends than dates, I don't get out much and would love to meet some people who would like to just hang out, hit a bar together maybe some karaoke. I love concerts but refuse to go alone, I have missed several that I would have loved to go to recently, Roger Waters and Ian Anderson specifically.
