I moved to SLC almost two years ago to join the symphony. relatively quiet with a dry but witty sense of humor. Tendency to over think. Tendency to write in sentence fragments. I'm a musician. I'm a Washington Nationals fan (I grew up in DC); probably the only one this side of the Mississippi. I love baseball. I like stand up comedy. I'm an unabashed liberal, and for the first time in my life, I'm in the minority. I play a little bit of guitar for fun, but the violin is the moneymaker. I'm getting better at skiing, but I had never done it before I moved out here...

I tend to wait until there are several seasons of a TV show on Netflix before I watch it. Makes it easier to binge. Recently I've been catching up on The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, and Parks and Recreation.

Music: classical music, especially symphonic and string quartet. Beethoven quartets and Mahler symphonies. Right now exploring symphonies by Sibelius. Minimalism, particularly Arvo Part and Steve Reich. Going through a Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson phase right now. I dig accessible prog like that, but also some of the less accessible. I was obsessed with Scandinavian metal bands in high school. I can't say I've necessarily gotten that out of my system yet, but I usually pretend that I have to avoid weirding people out. Yes, King Crimson, Hendrix, Floyd, Zeppelin, 90s rock from my childhood...

Books about music (Indivisible by Four, and I've been meaning to read The Rest is Noise, by Alex Ross) and other nonfiction mostly, dabbling into crime/mystery now and then. Moneyball the book was way better than the movie.

Movies: Anything Coen Bros. Dogma, Chinatown, Zombieland, anything good, ridiculous, or bad enough to laugh at. Anyone remember Good Burger?
