I recently just turned twenty-four, yet I'm just beginning to get
out into the world and figuring out how this grown-up crap works.
Little late, I know, but don't just automatically assume I'm still
a child, or whatever other smart ass comment you're currently
thinking of. This doesn't make you more "mature" than me, just a
pompous jackass. Are we clear on that? Good!
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, specifically San Jose. Growing up, I had a relatively happy childhood, but life at school was probably a major contributor to the way I am now -- shy, quiet, with a difficulty opening up to people out of fear that they will berate me. In school, I was "The Weirdo" You know, that kid you would see by themselves on the playground during recess. The kid you *thought* about going over to say "hi" to, but wouldn't because you were afraid of what your friends would say if you said "hi" to "that weird kid sitting by herself" even though there was a petty good chance that she was one of the nicest people you'd ever meet, just a little misunderstood.
Growing up, I loved to draw and color in coloring books. I started drawing when I was five. Granted, I just drew stick figures, but give me a break :) From 7th to 11th grade I was in advanced art classes, but I am largely a self-taught artist.
During my senior year in high school, I was diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Because of it, I decided to drop out of high school and focus on getting myself under control. It was only until I started going to therapy and put on medication in 2005 that I started to see an improvement. I'm happy to say that my OCD is relatively under control. It can never be cured however, only treated.
OK! On to more happy things :)
I LOVE hockey -- and no, just because I live in San Jose does not mean I like the Sharks, so please stop asking "you must be a Sharks fan." I HATE the Sharks. My favorite teams are the Washington Capitals (since 1996) and Anaheim Ducks(since 1995)!
I have a crude sense of humor. I think fart sounds are the greatest laughter-inducing sound EVER! I can pretty much laugh at anything considered Politically Incorrect, and I'm a stout supporter of political incorrectness. For this reason, easily offended males need not apply.
I have a thing for Russian males and the Russian Culture. A few years ago I dated a Russian. I wanted to become closer to him in more than the usual way, so I began researching various aspects of Russian Culture. Needless to say, I've retained and expanded upon the things I've learned.
I'm a bit of a video game geek, and quite proud to be a "girl-gamer". It makes kicking a guy's ass THAT much sweeter :D I'm mostly a platforming, fighting, and action/adventure gamer. Don't care for mindless first person shooters. My favorite franchises are Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Tekken, and the NHL series of games made by EA(when they work properly, that is...), and recently 2K Sports NHL 2K10 (my baby Ovie is on the cover for crying out loud!). Also, I'm ADDICTED to a little PC game known as The Sims 2. Oh, and I will kick your ass at Mario Kart Wii with Koopa Troopa, whom I affectionately call "Koops". It's all about the turtle power, baby!
