My self-summary
"In West Philadelphia, born and raised..."

Okay, more like Northwest Philadelphia, but Will Smith did go to my middle school.

I'm an outgoing guy who loves when good thinking meets creativity - in books, movies, work and life in general. I've spent a lot of time living in different cities, studying random things and thinking about all manner of thought-provoking subjects (that's what happens when you go to a liberal arts college, find yourself in a class about the Science of Color and have to McGyver a career path out of a Philosophy degree).
What I’m doing with my life
During the work hours I do brand strategy and try to concoct imaginative ways for advertising not to suck. Only rarely am I successful. But hey, someones gotta try. And my job does happen to have the added bonuses of cruises to the Caribbean for "research," and copious amounts of free sneakers and alcohol.

In my free-time I love playing soccer, re-living my high school/college rock-band days on an acoustic guitar, and hanging out with friends.
I’m really good at
I make a killer powerpoint. Does that count? My friends tell me I'm an expert advice-giver and hugs are a specialty of mine. I'm good at making a great dinner out of random ingredients (thanks mom!). Professionally I'm pretty good at brand strategizing.

Some other random skills include: rocking 90's alternative karaoke, skiing, driving stick shift, giving directions, writing music/lyrics, and carpentry.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For books I love unorthodox stuff that makes you think... The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, Ishmael, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Thinking Fast and Slow, Gladwell's books, etc. Just finished 100 Years of Solititde and think it makes the cut.

For movies I'm a big fan of Wes Anderson and Hitchcock (that was another random class I took in college), and for TV...HBO and Comedy Central pretty much sums it up.

I'll go on record and say Paul Simon's Graceland is my all time favorite album. Beyond that... Alabama Shakes, Bon Iver, Yeasayer, The Head and the Heart, Beach House, Miike Snow, LCD Soundsystem, Elliott Smith, The Band, Arcade Fire, The Gaslight Anthem, Vampire Weekend. I also have an undying love for early 2000's pop punk (the starting line, new found glory, brand new, taking back sunday...)
The six things I could never do without
Laughter, my little sisters, great friends, new adventures, PTO, creative outlets
I spend a lot of time thinking about
When I'll be old enough to own a dog (or cat).

How to get brands to spend more on "do gooding" and less on "buy our shit."

New things to do for fun. Any ideas?
On a typical Friday night I am
I like hosting... so probably a party or gathering of sorts at my place and then out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was in junior high I played in a punk band and had blue hair. I wanted to be Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day so badly.

Also, flying makes me nervous. Something about humans operating heavy machinery at 30,000 feet never felt quite right to me.
