My self-summary
I moved to DC from Seattle about three years ago, after graduating from law school. I arrived without a job, money, or a place to live, but thanks to hard work, some luck, and Craigslist, things have worked out just fine since then.

*My family and friends are most important to me. My best friends are the same friends I've had since elementary school.
*I like DC, but I'm a Pacific Northwest guy at heart. That includes an affinity for coffee shops, water, mountains, good music, folks who are laid back, and Ken Griffey Jr.
*I'm an optimist, a glass-half-full person.
*Like approximately half of the people out here, I partially blame The West Wing for convincing me to move to DC.
What I’m doing with my life
I do consulting and government affairs work for several public sector clients. In 2011 I quit my job at a big box firm and joined my friend's new firm as his first employee. It was the best decision I've made while living in DC, I love it.
I’m really good at
Tennis. Navigating around tourists on the Metro. Words with Friends. Seattle Mariners trivia. Trivia in general. Google searches. Grammar. Planning road trips. There is more.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm an upbeat and positive person and I think/hope that comes through to others I meet.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
TV: Shows on the DVR - Community; Parks & Rec; 30 Rock; The Office; The Daily Show; Conan; Mad Men; 60 Minutes; SNL; Modern Family; New Girl.

Movies: Ghostbusters is my all-time favorite.

Music: Presently it's The Head & the Heart, Allen Stone, Gabe Dixon, the Swell Season. I grew up on my dad's Frank Sinatra albums. And my friends and I have been known to do Boyz II Men at karaoke.

Books: Historical non-fiction.

Food: Pasta and more pasta. I make a good broccoli and cavatelli.
On a typical Friday night I am
Likely organizing a happy hour amongst friends. If the Nats are in town, I'll be there. Or seeing some live music. Or heading out of town. Or maybe just going home to rest after a long, long week. In other words, it varies.
