"We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different." -KV

Although I enjoy having nice things, I value time spent laughing, singing and playing with new/old friends above all else. I am happy to be in any social situation, but usually prefer smaller groups and deeper conversations. Travel, being outside, playing instruments, reading/writing, exercise (including yoga), cooking, eating out, movies, concerts, dancing (like no one is watching), and making each other laugh about how ridiculously absurd life can be is how I spend most of my time. Love dogs...probably should put that first now that I think about it. Oh and ART. Not sure why it is capitalized like that but saw it in someone's profile so will roll with it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am at a point in my career where I have a lot of flexibility (ex-lawyer who now works in the digital marketing world). I choose to work (mostly) from home and have additional vacation time so that I can travel to Europe (Praha, Munich, Bruge, Budapest, Baden-Baden, Madrid, Bristol, Bath, Conwy, Vienna, Florence, Dublin, etc...) NYC, Chicago, California, St Croix, etc...planning a long trip next year where I can work remotely from a new city for several weeks (e.g., Europe or Buenos Aires). I have friends and family all over the place...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I sing. Often and sometimes loudly, but especially when I feel good. I play several instruments (have been in bands most of my life, was my main job for several years, just joined a blues band). I play bass guitar and sing with a total disregard for my own health and the safety of others.

I am also really, really good at travel plan logistics.
The first things people usually notice about me

That I am NOT on the guest list...and someone is going to have to call security.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Irvine Welsh, Vonnegut, George RR Martin, Bradbury, et al. Right now I am re-reading some SF short stories and a book on non-verbal communication. Also read history, science, economics, politics, philosophy and satire.

Music: My tastes are always growing and evolving...I was into "underground" college music from the 80s before it went Pop (think early U2, Smiths, Violent Femmes, Cure, Cult, REM, XTC), early Punk/New Wave (Joy Division, Blondie, Ramones), always like Classic Rock (Beatles, Who, Stones, Zeppelin, ELO, Queen, Heart, Pink Floyd, Pretenders, Cheap Trick) and Glam (David Bowie, Sweet, TRex) plus a bit of everything else (Lyle Lovett, Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Beck, Pixies, Roxy Music, Flaming Lips, Tool, Tori Amos, Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Radiohead, White Stripes, Link Wray, White Denim, Slobberbone, Octopus Project, Holy Fuck, Deerhoof, Bach, Wagner and on and on and on...). Was recently introduced to Billy Childish and digging his stuff (if you want to take a break from reading this novel of a profile, check out this mash-up:

Movies: Studied film and really enjoy all genres but especially older movies (better dialogue, pacing and character development). Faves include: French Connection, Trainspotting, North by Northwest, Apocalypse Now, There Will Be Blood, Magnolia, Boogie Nights, Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist, Grand Hotel, Dr. Strangelove, Amelie, City of Lost Children, Godfather, Blazing Saddles, Thin Red Line, Sleepy Hollow, Natural Born Killers, The 9th Gate, Pan's Labyrinth, Bond movies (only with Sean Connery or Daniel Craig) and anything by David Lynch, Tarantino, Kubrick, Scorsese, Peter Jackson, Wes Anderson or the Coen Bros (and 90% of Ridley Scott). Also adore Sarah Silverman, Amy Schumer, Patton Oswalt, Seth MacFarlane and Jon Stewart (not movies, but worth a mention).

Food: Like all kinds, and always open to trying new things. These lists are getting too long...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot. this a trick question? I'm gonna go with my guitars, books and a bunch of silly-ass dogs.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Mostly thinking about my next trip...And how to make sense of things and why it may not be that important after all to ever really make sense of things. When that gets too intense, I read Kurt Vonnegut or look at ART (see what I did there?).

One of my favorite quotes: "Virtue is more clearly shown in the performance of fine actions than in the nonperformance of base ones." Bonus if you can guess (or know) who said it without using a lifeline.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Enjoy going out and staying home...all about finding something fun to do with fun people. I never understand people who say they are "bored"...really? bored? do you not have enough choices of what to do/what book to read/what music to listen to/how far to run/where to go/what to wear/how to be/what to think the universe? Is that it?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Not a big fan of snow cones...I am very social and outgoing, but I do need daily quiet time alone to sort through my thoughts and work on creative projects (i.e., recharge). If I do not get that alone time, I get a bit edgy. I am an extroverted introvert (or something, please someone smarter than me figure this out and get back to me).

I sort of want to see what happens if I end up in the same room as someone who is 100% my enemy (i.e., my true nemesis?). Would we cancel each other out? Tear the fabric of the universe?

Although I do not have a "type" or a checklist of must haves, I can say that if you are politically/socially "conservative" and/or have an issue with those that are different from you (race, social status, partner preference) then we will not get along.
