My self-summary
Taiwanese living and working in Hong Kong
非常歡迎來自台灣的朋友用中文跟我聊天!

I'm kind of a bum that sits on the couch and watches TV (ha, big fan of Discovery and History Channel... Nerd comments welcome). I'm sometimes quite the narcissist which plays well into my duality. I can be outright playful and find levity in everything. I spend lots of time at the gym and play a lot of basketball so much so that my social life gets put on hold (or rather non-existent).
What I’m doing with my life
What I'm doing with my life? ha, please...

a butcher
a baker
a candle-stick maker
a math professor
a tax assessor
a weight guesser
a stay-at-home dad
a circuit court judge
an astronaut
a lawyer
a banker
a senior executive
I’m really good at
1. Eidetic memory.

I have the most uncanny ability to remember random facts and useless information. This skill comes in handy when telling stories or saying the absolutely annoying... "Did you know that..."

2. Pretending to be interested

Call this one an occupational hazard, but there are a lot of uninteresting people in the world who say the most boring things. Unfortunately, most of these people are called clients and they pay me an exorbitant amount of money an hour for my attention.

This skill is never used outside the office (wink).

And what is it that I do? Ha, please...

3. Pretending I'm a professional in another profession.

My personal favorites are lawyer, fund manager, banker, doctor and Cirque Du Soleil producer.

4. Cooking

Surprisingly, I'm a really good cook. Not sure why or how but its just a matter of fact!

5. Noticing what's wrong with people wearing suits.

I adamantly object against people who wear suits and shirts that don't fit. And no, just because your suit says Armani or Paul Smith doesn't automatically make it a nice suit. If the suit is too big you look like a child going through daddy's clothes and if it's too small you look like the fat kid at band camp. It's not hard to make an effort to find something that fits.

I also object against suits that have no natural materials (i.e. it shines like a space suit), white shirts with yellow sweat stains, wearing brown shoes with a black suit and shirts with pockets.

Ha, am I asking too much?
The first things people usually notice about me
First and foremost that I am tall (185 cm). Second is that I am always wearing a suit and tie. Third, I am mean looking when I don't smile. Fourth, they think I am smart. Honestly, I don't think I'm that tall, that mean or that smart. But I am always well dressed, lol!
The six things I could never do without
Passport:

I've been secretly collecting entry and exit stamps from Taiwan so the customs agents have a difficult time knowing when I arrived and when I will be leaving. Most of the time they just give up and ask me a series of silly questions.

Side story: One time a custom agent asked me if my suit was a school uniform in which I replied Yes. Our uniforms were designed by Hugo Boss. True story!

Let's play a game:

Let me know your birth date and I'll see if I can find the date stamp in my passport.

Suits:

Ever see that guy walking around in melting hot weather or huge rain shower wearing a tailor-made suit? Yeah, that was me.

It's getting kind of crazy now, I even have tailor-made dress shoes = ="

Discovery Channel / History Channel:

Learning is cool. Plus, it gives me a chance to pick up useless facts to use to impress girls in the future. You never know if you will ever meet a girl who is interested in how Brazilian coffee is the direct result of a coffee branch being stolen from French King Louis XIV.

Glasses:

Big dorky glasses are so cool that I have two pairs (one being dorkier than the second).

Watches:

I have a watch fetish. So much so I noticed that one of my watches appeared in two summer blockbusters last year. Check it out! Hamilton Below Zero: Green Lantern & Predator.

Cologne and Deodorant:

I always hate getting stuck next to the sweaty and smelly guy on flights back to Taiwan. Maybe it's just me, but I think smelling nice is part of feeling clean.

Off topic, there is a distinct smell when traveling with men from Taiwan. If I could give it a name, it would be Countryside, by Peasant.

American Express:

No high end restaurant is worth eating at unless they accept AMEX!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
1. How to fix Taiwan's economy

For a country that is a top 25 global economy, Taiwan's current economic situation is quite disturbing and border line disgraceful. Repeat after me, IEI:

A. Infrastructure

B. Education

C. Investment

Give me four years in charge of that place and I will have her sparkling like a Pearl.

2. The weather

I'm not sure why, but I love watching weather maps and looking at forecasts. I have a talent for predicting rain.

3. Ms. Perfect

How many people out there can we really call "Perfect". Take for example, Taipei. There are 2.6 million people in Taipei, so subtract 50% that are men (1.3 milo), 45% are under the age of 23 and 48% are over the age 33 of (+/- 5 years) (91,000) to get women roughly my age. 48% of those are in existing relationships (47,320), eliminate half for intelligence (23,660), half for sense of humour (11,830) and half for compatibility (5,915). Take into consideration roughly 33% have same sex orientation (1,951) and remove 60% for mutual attraction (780) between boy and girl. Another 50% to account for the smokers (390) with roughly 50% having good careers (195). Only 40% would ever consider living overseas (78), minus all the suitable female contacts in my phone (15), minus ex-girlfriends (8) and minus family (3). That leaves THREE (3) girls who honestly fit the description of "perfect" in Taipei.

I'm thinking answering these questions on OKC won't be very helpful.
On a typical Friday night I am
I am probably wreaking havoc either some where, on someone or my wallet.

I do have a few rules for Friday night:

1. Don't hangout with people that can out drink you.

2. Don't hangout with people that can out spend you.

3. Don't hangout with people that can out run you. lol, don't ask.

Lol, I think I need to make new friends
