I'm a man of many hats, though none of them are cowboy or pirate hats. I know there's no hat associated with it, but I've become my volleyball team cheerleader, but instead of cheering I just bark and howl at them, so I'm more like the team German Cheer Shepherd. WOOF WOOF WOOF!

I work for a small start-up as a programmer for cell phone and tablet apps. It's pretty rad, I get to make software that people use everyday, sometimes to hilarious results. And of course, whenever I tell people about my job, they always want to pitch me their ideas, or shall we say, 'schemes' for making a fortune on apps. I've heard some pretty zany stuff: one guy thought I should make an app that lets you take a picture of your shoes, then it will find a pair of correctly matching shoe laces and order them for you. It's like some wacky venture Kramer would think up! "IT'S GOLD JERRY! GOLD!" (I don't care that that's Bania's line) So naturally, I love being on the sidelines, just watching such silliness ensue. Of course, that's not meant to imply that I don't partake of silliness on my own, I assure you that I do.

Outside of work, I have plenty of activities to keep me on my toes: I play volleyball and dodgeball in a recreational league, I enjoy hiking, cycling, and yoga, and of course my friends and I spend a lot of time hanging out.

I also travel around the globe quite frequently, whenever I have enough time to spare at work. Seeing different countries is one of my main passions in life.

I have a pretty fun job as a software engineer, and I have a few of my own personal engineering projects I work on during my own time. I'm also an avid gamer, I spend a lot of time planning trips to foreign countries, and I go out with my friends a few times a week. Basically, I have a professional and personal life, and I try to maximize both.

My super-power is that I can never get lost, I can keep track of where I am going and can figure out directions in my head. It's a big help when traveling by myself and being in new cities. Beyond that, I'm also well versed in science, math, history, engineering, and cooking,; and I'd say I'm the funny one in my group of friends, so I'm good at making them laugh.

I'm usually followed by a pack dogs, they follow me as their leader. I didn't ask for this responsibility, the dogs chose me.

Ok, that's not entirely accurate. But I am told I look like Anders from Workaholics when I wear a tie, so that's awesome!

TV: Almost exclusively comedy and cartoons: 30 Rock, Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, old episodes of the Simpsons, Futurama, Archer, The Venture Brothers, Metalocalypse.

Movies: Action, Adventure, Thriller, Comedy. Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Jurassic Park, A Clockwork Orange, Apocalypse Now, The Lord of the Rings, Inception, The Indiana Jones Trilogy.

Music: Classic Rock and some Indie. The Doors, The Moody Blues, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Flogging Molly, The Protomen.

Food: everything, especially spicy. The only food I don't like is bland food.

I always have a few computer projects I work on at once for fun and profit, so when my mind wanders it usually winds up there. Other general topics that i usually ponder are economics (I love economics, it's the Jew in me. I came pretty close to getting a minor in it), history, engineering, science, and sometime politics. I'm starting to think about my next trip, and I'm deciding between North Europe, China, and South America.

Sometimes out with my friends, usually at a movie or rarely a bar, though usually we just do a movie night at someone's house. I've been trying to find more interesting things to do around the bay area, though.

I am a complete Lord of the Rings nerd. I even lived in a part of town where all the street names were from the LotR books.
