My self-summary
Going to keep this short and sweet. Born and raised in North Dakota. Moved to Minneapolis a year ago. Recently got a puppy that is both enjoyable and a total pain (she loves people, come be her friend).

I'm loyal, a good listener, quiet, knowledgeable of useless information, and getting back into a more active lifestyle.

New edit: Trying this thing lately where I am completely honest. If you ask me a direct question I will give a direct answer. I am all for friendly banter, but don't like beating around the bush trying to get to a point. Life is too short, just be direct.
What I’m doing with my life
Still trying to figure that out. I know I need to do something, just uncertain what that is.
I’m really good at
If I knew this I'd likely have a better answer for the "What I'm doing with my life" category. I suppose one of the things I'm best at is listening to people.
The first things people usually notice about me
Without long-sleeves on it's probably my sleeve tattoo.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Fantasy epics are always good.
Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, A Song of Ice and Fire, Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms books, Sara Douglas' Axis Trilogy and Wayfarer Redemption trilogy, and many more.
Other notable books: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Animal Farm, Count of Monte Cristo, Call of the Wild (superior to White Fang but with less credit), and many more.

Movies: Going to name the top ones that come to my head.
Indiana Jones trilogy (there was no fourth), Star Wars, the old Conan movies, Pirates of the Caribbean (mostly the first), Seven, Willow, Labyrinth, Serenity (Firefly series naturally goes with), Ip Man, 13 Assassins (amazing Japanese movie), most anything by Miyazaki, Mallrats, Kingdom of Heaven (director's cut only), etc., etc. The list goes on and on.

Shows: Similar to movies, I'll just name some of what comes to mind.
Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, House, Adventure Time, Sons of Anarchy, Arrested Development, Futurama, Battlestar Gallactica, The Tudors, etc.
Also there is quite a bit of anime; Hellsing (original and Ultimate), Fullmetal Alchemist (prefer Brotherhood), Kill la Kill, Sword Art Online, Eyeshield 21, Bleach (less due to filler), Blood+, Attack on Titan, Aldnoah Zerio, Akame ga Kill, etc.

Those are not comprehensive lists but just snippets.

Music: I'll give just about everything a listen once except for most country and most rap. Notable bands currently:
Missy Higgins, Opeth, Within Temptation, The Head and the Heart, Useful Jenkins, Jethro Tull, Kasabian, Mason Jennings, Muse, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, and the list goes on.
Other notables: just about anything by Yoko Kanno, and the Chrono Cross soundtrack (if you know of this, you are instantly awesome in my book).

Favorite song at the moment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2CWsqGFgkA

Food: waaaay too much to be listed out. Pretty much enjoy most everything but can never go wrong with steak and potatoes, a good taco, or fine sushi. Pretty much what I don't like boils down to olives, peppers, mustard, and raw onions.

Games: I'm adding this category because I think it's important.
I play video games and that should be known. I play World of Warcraft but not everyday. I also tend to prefer older RPG's like Final Fantasy VII and Tactics, Chrono Trigger/Cross, Legend of Dragoon, Vandal Hearts, etc. I'm also very fond of a Wii game called Rhythm Heaven Fever (seriously, you should check it out).
Board games are always a good source of fun: Cards Against Humanity (not a board game but so notable), Monopoly, Risk, Axis and Allies, Life, Scrabble, Balderdash, etc. I'll play just about any board game, maybe not well but I'll play.
The six things I could never do without
1. Obviously the basics like food, shelter, air, water.
2. Music - be it my ipod or computer, I'm always listening
3. Sports - used to play quite a bit, now mostly just watch
4. A good book - always nice to have something to read
5. The internet - the source of entertainment this day and age
6. Sense of humor - without which life would be miserable
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The fact that the Krakatau eruption of 1883 was heard up to 2,800 miles away. That's roughly the equivalent (and a bit more) of the distance from New York to Los Angeles.
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching UND hockey (if I can get the game online), watching netflix. Would love to broaden that but don't know many people in the cities to go out with.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I think I'm gonna drown
Cause everyone around's so hollow
I'm alone
Sometimes I think I'm going down
But no one makes a sound
They follow
And I'm alone
Yeah if I make it I'd be amazed
Just to find tomorrow
One more day and I'd be amazed
Just to see it waiting
And if I make it I'm still alone
No more hope for better days
But if I could change
Then I'd really be amazed
And when you know you can't relate
To one more shiny face
Your heart breaks
No one cares
And when you know you can't go on
Cause everything is wrong
Your heart breaks
But no one's there

You should message me if
You'd like to strike up a conversation on here or in person, play some video games or watch movies together, go get something to drink (coffee or alcohol), you need someone else for a game night, or you'd like to become friends with my puppy (seriously, she already loves you).
