I love living in Boston. I've been back in the city for almost 5
years which is crazy to think about. I grew up here and left for
college and then moved to Chicago to start my career.
I try to keep work and life in decent balance although I think we
all appreciate that the balance is never perfect all the
I am usually the one planning events and bringing friends together
but I truly appreciate it when someone else plans an event. I love
being active and exploring. Spending time walking through the city,
going to the theater, trying new restaurants. I am generally game
for anything, especially something I haven't tried before.
I enjoy traveling both local or international. My favorite trip to
date is tied right now: two months driving across the country
touring baseball stadiums and national landmarks vs. 2 weeks in
Greece traveling the islands. It's a tough call.
What I’m doing with my life
I currently work for a design engineering firm in Boston (sounds
boring I know but if nothing else I get to walk around construction
sites and wear a hard hat.) Exploring Boston and learning more
about it and the amazing things to do here.
I’m really good at
cooking, photography, squash, laughing at myself, dancing (or at
least I like to think so), organizing a fun weekend of activities
The first things people usually notice about me
People notice how quiet I am, especially in large groups where I
don't know a lot of people. And then once they get to know me they
can't believe they ever thought I was quiet.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love murder and detective books and tv shows (Jo Nesbo, Donna
Leon, Bones, Castle, NCIS). I also enjoy a good tv comedy like
HIMYM, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Daily Show, Psych, The Muppets
(all of them really - movie and tv).
And of course there are the classic movies - The Princess Bride,
The Italian Job (the new one), Spaceballs, James Bond (almost all
of them), Sneakers.
I watch just about any type of movie except horror and
I also enjoy reading things that are good for me - like the New
Yorker, the Atlantic Monthly, the Omnivores Dilemma.
I am an NPR Junkie.
I eat and cook all types of food although I am allergic to mango
(random I know). My favorite foods are Mexican and Indian. I am
still learning how to cook good Indian.
The six things I could never do without
Good food and cooking
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...my next trip.
...how hard it is to really know someone from answers to a list of
On a typical Friday night I am
Is there really such a thing as s typical Friday night? Depending
on my mood, I am at the bar, driving somewhere for a weekend away,
at a play or concert or sitting on my couch enjoying a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I somehow don't think that this is the right place to answer this
