I believe people's characteristics are a result of the routines they devote themselves to. With that, I will tell you that I read, swim, bike, write, crochet, dance, cook, speak, and listen with much pride and patience. There are many other activities that I've learned at one time or another, but I keep things rather fresh, and I have a penchant for exploration. I'm a very active person, and sometimes it's hard for me to just sit down and contain myself (this is why I have so many hobbies.) Although I might seem like a serious fellow (which I am), I like to laugh and (un)fortunately, I laugh loudly.
I'm an extroverted and social person, but I definitely need to set time aside to take care of my own things. I'm spontaneous without being impulsive; thoughtful but not too indecisive. I don't like wasting time for the sake of wasting time, I'd like to think I'm much more purposeful than that.
I am passionate and will talk (nearly) endlessly about: writing, Asian culture, Psychology, Linguistics, Philosophy (specifically Virtue Ethics), Design principles (and probably much more).
Hemingway said it best: "Try to learn to breathe deeply, really to taste food when you eat, and when you sleep really to sleep. Try as much as possible to be wholly alive with all your might, and when you laugh, laugh like hell. And when you get angry, get good and angry. Try to be alive. You will be dead soon enough.”
I'm generally fairly unassuming in nature. Rather than coming off as "hard to read," I keep things as apparent as they can be; with that said, I value tact quite a bit. I'm looking for someone that doesn't mind that. I can get along with a wide range of personalities, but the people that really hold my attention are ones that don't mind getting heavy in an instant, that have lots of energy, whose curiosity is insatiable, and those who don't mind being a downright fool with me.
