My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Jinkies, where to start? I'm an authentic, jocular, and concise fellow new to Seattle by way of Baltimore, Chicago, and Madison, WI. I seek out the intelligent, innovative, and light-hearted while eschewing convention and bullshit. I have a really cute dog, a great family, and spend a lot of time with my nephew, who is all around aces. The free time I have is often filled by thrift shopping, biking, rock shows, karaoke, dancing, football, and futbol.

Currently acclimating to my new city and its quirky ways. I love the culture and the people, but I've never seen so many slow-motion near-car accidents in my life. They are generally followed by an exchange something like: - You go. - No you go. - No, no you go. - ...OK I'll go. - God what an asshole. For such consternation I would just prefer the car crash.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
A few years ago I decided to uproot my life in Chicago and move to Baltimore for grad school to focus on expanding health insurance access to more Americans. After graduation I spent the summer working for the Obama Administration and then promptly got the hell out of DC, which I found to be a terrifying cesspool of Patrick Bateman-inspired humanity (it's lovely in the springtime though). This fall I moved to be closer to my family in Seattle, where I could wear my beard and flannel in peace, and that is what I'm doing with my life now.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books - I generally stick to non-fiction and like biographies and history. I've recently been reading a lot about Teddy Roosevelt and find him quite fascinating. His work ethic and anti-corruption efforts are inspiring, but his jingoism was disturbing to say the least.

TV - Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Arrested Development, Spaced, Project Runway, RuPaul's Drag Race, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Wire, Parks and Recreation.

Music - I pride myself on my mixtaping abilities and often make odd holiday/event-themed mixes for friends and family. Hurricane Sandy brought a unique opportunity for Armageddon-related tunes like Holland, 1945. Labor Day? Obviously Workin' for the Weekend by Loverboy is indicated.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I fall asleep to the soporific voices of NPR, and Father John Misty gives me nightmares.

You are self-confident and will challenge me. You're smart, with a sense of humor and a positive outlook on life, compassionate, independent or liberal, and dedicated to something greater than self interest.

I'm not looking for a hook-up, polyamory, fuck buddies, or some other confusing modern arrangement, so please be willing to entertain the idea of a serious relationship.
