My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up abroad and moving from country to country every few years. I've attended schools in California, Louisiana, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and I graduated high school in Thailand before moving back to California for college.

I went though a few majors when I was in college. I originally was really into the idea of becoming a Psychologist because I like talking with people, plus my friends and family have been telling me since high school that I'd be good at it. After that I tried my hand at Journalism but I realized I just really liked writing opinion pieces more than anything truly 'journalistic'. Then I tried taking a few creative English classes and had lots of fun writing short screenplays. I learned that for as much as I love writing I'd prefer it to be a hobby than a job unless I became an English teacher, which isn't totally out of the question...It would just take me a long time to get there.

The last classes I took were for Computer Science, but that was a few years ago. Ultimately I want to be able to bring ideas I've had in my head to life, whether in a short story, screenplay, or video game format...it's really about how best I can bring my concepts to life.

I've been told I'm fun, easy to talk to, and a good listener...so if I seem like somebody you'd get along with don't hesitate to say 'Hi'!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently I'm working full time at a start up company. Besides this, I occasionally write down story ideas and I'd really like to try out voice acting but I don't really know where to begin. For now it's just singing in my car and emulating voices I've heard in cartoons or movies or whatever.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I can cook eggs fairly well. Actually, I can cook most things pretty decently as long as I have at least part of a recipe. I tend to do a good job modifying recipes and making it work. I can make this Vindaloo Curry Meatloaf that's pretty great. It's really when I wing it entirely that I can run into trouble.

I've been told I'm a good listener and give really good objective advice. I enjoy listening and helping people out, too...it's definitely the reason I tried my hand at psychology.

I have a decent singing voice, though I only really use it in the car. I rarely drink enough to think Karaoke is a good idea, though Rock Band is never out of the question.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
As much of a cop-out answer as this is, I'd need somebody to tell me. I've been told I have a kind face, a musical voice, 'dynamic eyebrows'...at this point it's anybody's guess.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I read A Last Chance to See by Douglas Adams years after I'd read the Hitchhikers Guide series and I was really floored at how powerfully he could write seriously aside from his usual satirical tone. The only other book that really stands out to me was Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. I had to read it for a class and it took me by complete surprise. I've never really read anything so bizarre and visceral as that.

Movies: Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters, Army of Darkness, Young Frankenstein, Good Night and Good Luck, Clue, almost all the Godzillas, both Trons, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Speed Racer, most of the Die Hards, most cheesy movies and some more serious movies, though I'm more likely to be in the mood to watch something funny than something serious.

Shows: Arrested Development, Community, Sherlock, Burn Notice, MST3K, Lost, Breaking Bad, The Twilight Zone, most of the 90's WB cartoons like Batman and Freakazoid. Also, I can't get into Game of Thrones. I tried watching the first episode recently and I lost interest halfway through.

Music: Dream Theater, Foreigner, Alice in Chains, Daft Punk, Electric Six, Justice, Jamiroquai, Jane's Addiction, Andrew W.K., Opeth, Metallica, The Protomen, Soundgarden, Ursula 1000...I can appreciate or at least learn to eventually appreciate most music, but those make up the bands I can be in the mood for anytime.

Food: A really good homemade Macaroni and Cheese is awesome. Also Sushi, Pho and most curries, Massaman probably being my favorite. Really, the only thing I don't prefer is 'Chinese' food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-- Being nice. I try to be as good, helpful and forgiving to people as possible. This probably seems like a lame answer but it's a pretty decent part of who I am. If I feel like I've wronged somebody I'll dwell on it for days to a week.

-- Company. I love talking to people about most anything. Even talking with somebody who doesn't share my opinion is better than no social interaction at all.

-- A sense of humor. Mine can be a little bit dark, though I can tone it down if I need to. The couple of times I've gotten really sick, the last thing I lose is my sense of humor.

-- Terrible weather. Mostly thunderstorms. Hail is a plus. California doesn't exactly scratch this itch very often, though. Ideally I want to live in a place where it snows.

-- Road Trips. Actually, trips in general that aren't completely planned out. All the vacations I had as a kid were very scheduled and I hated that. You need to have time to get lost and adventure your way back to safety!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I tend to be thinking up short movie scenes or story ideas. All those little moment end up becoming part of something bigger, but they usually begin as 30 second visions in my head.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Having dinner with my family and friends. Fridays are usually the night when we all get together and sort of wind down from the last week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
On an average day I can hit every note in The Darkness' "I Believe in a Thing Called Love." It's one of my favorite songs to sing in my car and I sing it like a fool pretty often along with the other songs on the playlist I don't tell anybody about.

I'm much more open in person than on a place like this. If you want to know something more private, just ask me!

...I sound like the kind of guy you might like talking to over a cup of coffee (or tea) or if you want to find out what other random songs I sing my heart out to in the safe isolation of my car.
