Your Notes
Edit your notesI am nerdy, bubbly, and awkward.
My Self-Summary
Yes, I am a nerd! I particularly like to think of myself as a nerd of all trades. I've got an expansive knowledge of art, classical music, the C and C++ programming languages, and math. Also, I have a bit of an affinity for gaming, anime, and fantasy.
Few people have ever struck me as too radical (politically). While I'm not the type to impose my views on other people, I am disappointed by the lack of progressivism here in the United States. Seriously, Argentina got a woman president before we did--for shame, America.
Like many people, I suppose, I hope to have a family of four someday. Unlike many people, my ideal family includes me, my partner(s), and their partner(s) (hooray for polyamory). It is NOT just my partner and I with two kids.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Movies: John Cameron Mitchell's "Shortbus" is a must see! It has got to be the best movie I've seen in... EVER--check it out. "The Birdcage", "Across the Universe", and "Memento" are some of my favorites too. I also give props to Pixar for their consistently delightful and fun films.
Music: I will always have a soft spot for classical music and for the Beatles--it's what I grew up on (yeah, my mom's sort of a Lennon fangirl). I have an affinity for Shastakovich, Chopin, and Debussy. You really can't go wrong with Queen, BNL, or Eric Clapton either. Good stuff. As far as folks who are still recording, I suppose my favorites are John Mayer, The Hush Sound, and Second Person.
Food: Yeah, I'm a college student. Let's face it, most of what I eat is either ramen, pizza, mac & cheese, or microwave popcorn. Sure, there are better things, but I'm not too picky.

The six things I could never do without
5. Gaming: The world is a strange and bizarre place. For my own sanity, and sometimes just for fun, I need to escape to somewhere even more strange and bizarre (real life seems a bit more normal afterwards). Some good vacation spots are the Half-Life universe, Magic: The Gathering, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
4. Playing music: I think that I might go through withdrawal if I had to go a week without touching a piano key. My cello, Gabriel, and I are regular pals. He even sits next to me on the airplane.
3. Sunshine and fresh air: as much as I love the indoors, they really can't compete with the outdoors. I spend so many hours a week just walking around the lake or the park. I wonder how so many people seem to get by without that.
2. The internet: Email, youtube, xkcd.com, facebook, wikipedia, AIM... 'nuf said.
1. Hugs: Hellos and goodbyes just aren't the same without a hug--you know someone is a true friend if they won't let you leave without one. No, I don't think two guys hugging is weird, why on earth would anyone say that?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Considering my position as vice president of my school's Gay Straight Alliance, I'm often looking for ways to educate others about alternative lifestyles, problems facing the GLBTQ community, and sex-positivism.
I wonder about whether or not social equality between genders will ever exist. Mostly I've concluded that it will be lucky if there is ever legal equality in my lifetime. All the more reason for me to try hard, I suppose.
On a typical Friday night I am
I get out sometimes too. Frat parties aren't my thing, but I'm at a school where nerds like me know how to party like the nerds we are.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
You should message me if
You are musically or artistically inclined: you play an instrument, sing, dance, paint or draw. You like artwork by Picasso, Magritte, or Escher. You can hear the difference between Bach, Brahms, and Beethoven. More bonus points if you pronounce "Bach" and "Bock" differently.
You are not put off by non-monogamy. You realize that polyamory does not excuse promiscuity or dishonesty.
